As mid-terms approach, I found it to be very informative; and highly accurate. What the writer describes, I've complained about for 40 years. The majority of America is tired of the greed, corporatism, and politicians with only their(and their friends)best interests at heart.
"Although two-thirds of the adult US population does not have a four-year college degree, the political system rarely responds to their needs and has frequently enacted policies that harm them in favor of corporate interests and better-educated Americans. What has been “stolen” from them is not an election, but the right to participate in political decision-making, a right that is supposedly guaranteed by democracy. Viewed in this light, their efforts to seize control of the voting system are not so much a repudiation of fair elections as an attempt to make elections deliver some of what they want.

In my county there is ONE NAME on the ballot for most offices. ONE party republican rule IS NOT democracy.
When there is NO POINT in voting, because there is NO CHOICE, democracy has died.
Paul Gosar is the US Rep in our county. You want to know why he gets reelected? Because there is no opposition. His is the ONLY name. People would rather have a man who threatens to KILL other members of congress, than entertain an alternative. That is NOT democracy.

Now I’m afraid he has done irreparable damage. Only an outside threat can put us back together. We have trumpists and wannabe mini trumps waiting in the wings should he fail to return to his misconceived throne, and the followers determined to make it so.

Nah, Obuma, who promised unity, but was the Great Divider, divided the country in a hUUUge way…and Dems feelings were hurt so badly when poor Hillary lost that they started a goosechase and impeachment talks because of it that’s going on 6+ years, and even through a pandemic. Sleepy Joe promised unity but has done the opposite along with creating so many debacles. Aghan debacle, border crisis, skyrocketing inflation that hasn’t been seen in 40+ years, skyrocketing violent crime, etc…, and war. Because Trump looks even more fabulous with what we’ve seen the last 19 months…but at least there’s no mean tweets
