A couple reasons for DeSantis to run sooner versus later is:

1. A politician's time in the sun is as fleeting as a pop star's. Obama knew this and ran against the party's favorite Hillary Clinton successfully.

2. Florida has to do something about homeowner's insurance. Citizen's Property Insurance is all that is holding the property insurance market together; and without reinsurers, Citizen's cannot continue to insure property owners without raising rates through the roof. Reinsurers' contracts are up in 2023 and could refuse to do business in Florida given the heightened risks from hurricanes due to warming oceans. DeSantis won't look too appealing if the real estate market suffers a major meltdown because nobody can afford insurance. The longer he waits, the more risk he entails. Any public option would denigrate his anti-socialist credentials.

Actually he's been fraudulently charged over garbage. If they went after him for the honest impeachable policies, every President in my lifetime would qualify.

I'll respect that you have no basis for claiming fraudulent charge. The warrant was legal.

Go read up on 18 U.S.C. §§ 793, 2071. Supreme Court acknowledges that law. No challenges to date on that Federal statutes. Its active .

How many close races went blue because of the antics of this clown. As much as I regret my vote for Biden I do not regret voting against Trump.

I do think you can't minimize that time in the sun rationale.

DeSantis is on top of the RNC heap right now. He is the star. No other Republican has his spot. ANd most likely, if he waited, he could stay up there but we all know how one little incident can knock someone down.

I may be naive but if DeSantis runs in 2024 as the Republican candidate he is guaranteed a win. Look -- not sure I would support all his policies -- but I do think he could beat anything the Democrats throw out.

Biden would be done for sure. No way he could hold his own with DeSantis.

Doesn't matter. Trump has a history of legal problems -- before his political career and it continues through it.

The IRS just didn't START to investigate Trump - they have been audited and investigating him for years...even when he was a Democrat.

DeSantis has none of that.

I hope Trump will run. This is weaken the GOP and actually give the Dems a shot. I just hope it's someone other than old Joe......time for a nap, Biden.

He's announcing his run and naming his v.p.

Hope that person has a good life insurance policy. That position will draw the life out of anyone. To be his minion. Spread his lies. And do it with conviction.

I can't imagine a person willingly wanting to be his whipping post. Lawd have mercy.

Turns out supporting Trump's candidates actually worked out pretty well in the end for the dems. They should call off all investigations of Trump and donate to his presidential campaign.

After the results of the mid-terms I say he is going to announce he and MAGA are starting a 3rd party. The GOP let this cancer grow and they now have to deal with it. Trump was always for Trump not the party. Good luck guys.
