Abortion rights, all day long. Ultra religious talk and flirting with ideas gutting social security and Medicare was the nail in the coffin.

Jan 6 was awful but I could care less whether some thought the election wasn’t legit. Biden is President and that’s that. Could care less if some boys want to be girls or vice versa either.

Republicans should have stuck with economy/inflation, homelessness/crime and immigration period.

Which is why this is so strange, it felt like a big R night, the country needed to balance the power, Wall Street was expecting it to happen, something feels off even Dems can admit that.

The Presidential race? Yes, all the races? No

The later mail in votes in Arizona in 2020 tended to break towards Trump. Fact off the matter is you had a candidate and many in the party start screaming and spouting off conspiracy theories about mail in votes, it is not surprising that their supporters are less likely to vote by mail.

FWIW a local election here (Nassau Co Exec, which is not a small race in a county of 1.4 million) in 2009 changed with the absentee ballots days after the election. The incumbent Democrat Tom Suozzi (current NY-3 Congressman who retired this year) led on Election night and shortly thereafter. Republican Ed Mangano than overtook the lead with the absentee ballot count and wound up winning. Mangano turned out to be a crook, and is now in jail, but the win wasn't fraud, it wasn't some conspiracy, he won fairly when all the votes were counted.

Except it wasn’t just retirees heading south. Folks have simply left Dem states in droves due to how ridiculous Governors handled the plandemic…and Florida is expected to get around 900/day until 2025 and bringing their tax money with them….and Florida picked up 136K+ Republicans in 2022.

That would be hilarious if Nancy Pelosi is the speaker of the house again.

I find it mind-boggling Az & Nevada Senate seats are not called yet. The leaders in each will hold.

But New York has always been blue --- it's never going to be Republican.

I moved from Toronto Canada to the south -- and didn't even think of the politics.

And living in South Carolina, we did see many northerners buy up property here ...why? Because almost year round you can be outside and do things. They realized that winter sucks up north for most people unless you ski.

Winter is horrible -- no winter is the best.

Couple of things to point out.

Were the races as close in 2016. From my recollection it wasn't so close in most states.

AND -- haven't we added more voters but not upgraded our voting systems. That puts a burden on those resources and may create obstacles to getting the votes counted in a more timely fashion.
