Laxalt is now closing the deal in NV.

With 49 GOP seats already in the bag, that leaves AZ and GA to cement control of the Senate.

The GA run-off will be a two man race without Chase Oliver (L) pulling votes away from Walker.

The House is already flipped, so I'm just not seeing the catastrophe here.

Nevada is pretty much done and that will make 50 R Senators and I think the other 2 are 50-50.

To me, if we wanted to lay the blame on just one person, I would lay the blame on the doorstep of Supreme Court Justice Thomas. The overturn of Roe v. Wade was the mistake that was made that scared enough voters right before the election. It showed America what the far right could do if they regained control. America does not want just a few 'good old boys' telling them how and what they should believe in and what to do.

Of course, after the SC decision, all those 'good old boys' came out applauding our new course and slapping themselves on the back. That didn't look good and the Democrats knew that and capitalized on their mistakes.

Both Parties have to take a long look at what path they should follow. My feeling is that America is moving towards the middle and we are tired of the extremes, we are tired of politicians that only have their jobs to line their own pockets and those of their friends. We hire these clowns to work for us and the day they get elected, they forget who hired them! I think that Oz was a great example of what I am saying because, even with the help of the Party leadership, voters did not like the man or his party platform.

Out of the young people I know, friends' children, etc., most vote Republican (fiscally and conservatively). The young 20- and 30-something women in that group (oldest DD included) had an issue with Roe v. Wade. None of them are the "promiscuous/hooking up" types who sleep around, get accidentally pregnant, and use abortion as instant birth control. They're all married or in committed monogamous relationships, raising families, or career oriented, and don't fit in the "irresponsible sex" lifestyle. What they're REALLY concerned about is women/girls not being able to get an abortion in cases of incest and rape. Or in instances where the mother's life is in danger. Oldest DD (36 and married) schooled me on this...and she has a point. 32 years ago, I had to have an emergency D & C removal of a fetus who had died in utero due to a chromosome abnormality (would have been her baby sister). It had been a planned pregnancy and ended tragically. Had that D &C procedure been declared an "abortion" and "illegal" , would it have been denied and threatened my life? Another would have been in the instance of an ectopic pregnancy. There are way too many grey areas in this.

This was a HUGE issue to some of these Republican women. Enough to make them skip voting. They found this extremely disturbing, even more than gas and food prices. Youngest DD (30 and single) still voted Republican, because the issue isn't important to her (she's indifferent to dating and has no interest in relationships, but that's another story). She hates Biden and Fetterman.

The GOP should have left their hands off. I'm not saying that's what lost us our "red wave", but I'm sure it contributed heavily.

AND -- haven't we added more voters but not upgraded our voting systems. That puts a burden on those resources and may create obstacles to getting the votes counted in a more timely fashion.
Exactly most elections news media projected the winner and everyone went to bed. Election workers continue to count for days no one pays any attention to that. States like Arizona where have close elections now everyone thinks something new about tabulating ballots for days or weeks.

Well, just because something is in the title of the party, does not mean that is what the party represents. Look at the full title of North Korea. Naziism is a form of fascism and the opposite of a liberal democracy. Hitler was certainly NOT a 'leftist.' I won't take more of my time here so feel free to look deeper into this if you are interested. Cheers.
Hitler was a darling of the left in America during the 1930's, Groups of Democrats were actually learning to speak and understand German so they could listen to his speeches.
National socialism is exactly what the democrats of today are demanding.

I spoke too soon.

GOP is currently leading the senate and house.

Blue wall? Yeah right.

Correct, GOP currently leading both the House and Senate.

Maybe no red wave, but clearly no blue wall either. This country is very polarized.
