If the margin is slim and overseas military and other absentee ballots could make the difference, and they are only required to be postmarked by Election Day, not delivered, of course there will be a delay.

No. It's the handcounting and the state laws regarding when the counting is allowed to begin, and, most of all, the closely divided races. Funnily enough, it's often Rs who favor hand counting and late counting.

Doesn't take much time at all to call a race that is 70%/30%. But when it's 50.1% vs 49.8% it takes a lot longer because more votes have to be counted to make the call.

Spoiler alert - it often takes 2-3 weeks following an election to get the final certified counts. But the races can be, and are, called a lot sooner.

lmao.. people actually believe when a race is called its becaus me they counted all the votes. Its all about the math.

If there is no path to victory they call a race but if its neck and neck, then every vote needs to be counted.

The Democrats went by the same information as Bush did.

We don't know why Gore would have done after 9/11 but I am glad he was not president at the time.

The population of just California alone is more than the combined population of the least populous 10 (or more) states. The Electoral College is there for a reason.

There is roughly the same number of people in each Congressional district. Republicans won about 52% of the House seats, so it stands to reason that they won 52% of the "popular vote". No big revelation there.

In 2020, when Democrats won more House seats, they also won the "popular Congressional vote", 50.8% to 47.7%. Your statement about "the past 3 decades or so" is false

Yes and no. What skews the numbers somewhat are those Districts where the incumbent runs unopposed or with token opposition and gets 90%+ of the vote.

That is jot the reason for the delay in California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, etc.

P.S. Fetterman and other past Democrats have demanded undated ballots arriving late should count.

Your media is propaganda and has given you a false notion of reality that the Republicans struggle in congressional popular votes. This is propaganda that the dems don't gerrymander and gerrymandering is the only thing keeping the GOP alive. It's BS.

3 decades is 30 years, there are 2 years in between elections, so let's use 15 elections.

The past 15 congressional elections the Republicans have won 9 popular votes and the democrats have won 6.

So I am 100% correct to say that the GOP won most of the congressional popular votes the past 3 decades.

See post 40 for the year by year break down.

I've been told there are more Democrats than Republicans in America, but maybe that's not the case? Or do more Democrats just turn out for presidential elections?
