The simple way to stop the government from overspending would be to enact an amendment which requires the budget to be balanced. It will never happen because we keep electing people who don’t care how much money they spend as long as they get re-elected.
Nah the DC parasites would just raise taxes to cover the overspending.
On top of a balanced budget requirement, there needs to be a Constitutional amendment that:
1. Limits all government tax revenue collections to no more than 10% of GDP
2. Requires proof of funds sufficient to cover the entire price tag of any bill up front before a bill can be brought up for a vote
3. Automatic sunsets all spending bills at the end of every fiscal year
4. Repeals the 16th Amendment outright
5. Requires Congress to raise the funds required to pay for all spending bills up front WITHOUT TAXATION
6. Requires all spending bills to be approved by a 2/3 majority in both houses, and only becomes effective once the spending bill is funded in a separate escrow account in its entirety
7. Requires all elected officials to run for re-election every single fiscal year.

As long as we have fiat-based monetary system that requires ever more debt to keep the system going, neither party is going to reduce spending to any significant degree.
We need:
***A Balanced Budget Amendment
***Term and Age Limits
***Eliminate Political Parties-----each State gets two Senators and a Representative for each district, no designation beyond name and State.
That solves about 75% of our problems, in my estimation.
They will never vote for term limits, but I agree, as REPRESENTING the people is not supposed to be a life long career where government creatures gain massive wealth. That was never the intention, but we have, and have had, an unbelievable amount of idiots in this country.

if there is no political party, how will we know who the pure and righteous ones are? we also need to get the money out of political campaigns. a cap of $100 per individual annually and no corporate or foreign donors.
That will never happen. The nature of elections is making campaign promises to spend money benefiting people so they will vote your way. Whether it's student loan forgiveness, a health care plan, building EV charging stations, building a wall on the border, creating jobs, building freeways, or anything else, it costs money.
We are running out of money. Govt is up to consuming >50%, & it doesnt stop there. It goes to 60% then 70%. The economy goes from recession to depression. Are you saying it is all inevitable?

don’t worry, soon the not scary at all tax agency will be going after your crumbs. the Vladimir’s need more money funneled to their corrupt hell holes.
Our society has deteriorated to the point where it’s far too late to stop and fix this.
There will have to be a total collapse, and probably a terrible, violent war. Hopefully we can keep the fraud going for a little while longer….I’d like a few more good years.
It might be too late, it might not be. I agree this all ends very badly. Death, starvation, slavery.
It will have been caused by the top 1%, & the 99% allowing it, by being complacent.
Right now, we are in the denial phase....at least those of us near the top of the wealth pyramid are...we're not feeling any of this. The people at the bottom are already feeling it, & their numbers are growing.
Imagine the homeless population swelling to 20% of our population, & them turning on the rest. That is what will happen. Toay's homeless are already a lot more aggressive than they were 20 years ago. Defund the police facilitates their growing aggressiveness.

This would fix it. The only way to get there is through a Convention of States. DC will never stop the over-spending, that much has become crystal clear. Its been going on since 1933...the New Deal. The States will need to save us from DC....or the people will need to remove them. They are not going to quit, and just walk away.

Campaign finance reform must be forced upon them. They will never do it willingly. A Convention of States, or an action by the people will be needed. Voting/elections are getting us nowhere. The Blue-Red tug-o-war continues while the parasite feeds upon all of us.
