Likely a combination of the two factors. Retirees moving to Florida being quite Republican and Latinos in Florida swinging more Republican, and going back to how they were under Bush.

Retirees moving to Florida have been Republican for quite some time. However, after the early 2000's Latinos in Florida started to swing more and more Democratic, which balanced out the GOP trend with retirees. However, in recent years Latinos have swung Republican in Florida so there is little to balance out the GOP trend with retirees.

Florida has a high percentage of elderly individuals. The leading causes of death in Florida are diseases related to old age. It could very well be that many elderly voters have died and new Democratic voters aren't replacing them.

Another thing I consider is that many Democrats might have left Florida for other states.

Or all of it. Many Florida retirees are from New York and New Jersey. Also, from places like Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Many Hispanic voters stand out from Hispanic voters in other parts of the USA. Alot of Cuban-Americans, Venezuelans, Colombians, groups who are more likely to vote Republican than other Hispanic groups.

Presentation was key. Nobody researches anything. The Latinos were in agreement of him shipping those folks to MV, not sure how he twisted that one in SFL. And of course in our state 15 weeks abortion is fair to most.
He had the money and good PR. I did not like Crist, he stayed quiet and bland, he did not rise to the occasion. Dems need some folks with fire for the national election.
Just throwing out some thoughts. Miami-Dade from what I understand has many Cuban-Americans. Broward has many Venezuelans particularly in Weston. Broward did stay blue while Miami-Dade went red.

When I talk with the family back in Texas who have always voted Republican, they don't really support migrants. It is a cultural issue and probably a competition issue.

Interesting point, because there are about 100,000 voters missing from the rolls this election year over and above the historic number who go missing in previous years.

Are these Covid deaths or something else.

Surprised that no FL news organization is looking into this.

Answer: It's because the state is run by a MAGA Republican who is competent and has attracted tens of thousands of blue-state-fleeing conservatives, and because the Democrats gave up on the state so the easily swayed people could only be swayed by GOP

DeSantis cleaned up the Florida voter rolls. Or do you mean after he cleaned up the Florida voter rolls?
