It should be pretty obvious to every Republican that associating themselves with Trump was a lousy idea. Given the state of the economy, inflation, diesel storage, it should have been a hands down sweeping victory for the Republican party, but it wasn't. The Abortion issue didn't help, but I think they could have overcome it without the Stain of Trump on the party. While Republicans are starting to criticize Trump, asking him to step aside for the good of the Republic Party, it's too little, too late. I do not predict a better outcome for the Republican Party in the 2024 election either. The only way to redeem themselves is to stop blocking the Democrats efforts to hold Trump accountable for the Jan. 6 Capital Attack, and join them. If Trump gets what he duly deserves, prison time for his part in the insurrection, not to mention his handling of classified documents, than Republicans would a clear path to Victory in 2024. Without it, it's going to be the same results as this election, because after all Trump does what's good for Trump, he doesn't care about America or the Republican Party, he's out for #1, Himself.

Yes, Republicans can redeem themselves.

Go back to being the boring stiffs they used to be, and that was pretty respectable and likable.

Backers of business and prosperity, not very flashy or exciting. Or threatening for the rest of us.

This is why Republicans will lose the next election as well. You can show the people the facts, but they do not have to believe them. You honestly believe Trump is good for the Republican party?

Nope.

You can bluff and bluster and pretend to have facts, and continue to allude to things where there is zero to back it up, and you won't be believed.

You can fool some of the people some of the time . . .

As long as there is an elected Republican who bought into the big lie it will always present a problem for the party. Joe made voting for Republicans a vote against democracy and you can't un-ring that bell. Trump doesn't need to be locked anymore Democrats need him and his Republican supporters to run against.

I guess you love handing the Dems majorities by embracing Trump.

Yes, republicans can redeem themselves by keep pushing Trump to be their party leader. Do what Trump has always done. If it doesn't work now, keep doubling and tripling down. I'm loving this!

Dont care if Trump is good or not for the Republican party, he is not a republican. Never has been, Trump is all about Trump and has had very little support from the actual Republican Party. The question really is, is Trump Good for America? And frankly that should be the question we ask about any politician. He is an incredibly flawed human being but things in America were good under Trump despite Dem opposition and media bias for years and little to no support from the Repubican Party. And sure I would like someone who is not frankly an A-hole I dont see anybody on either side whose policies would be better then Trumps. People just cant get past their hatred of him to look objectively at his four years in charge.
