What will end human civilization?

Complete dependence upon "it" by it's citizens for basic needs, then one KO to the system. The further away from enabling people to be independant, the more vulnerable we become to monopoly. What's happening with oil now is a good illustration.
Whole other reason to use grid tie networks to get away from complete reliance of a central source. Not keeping all your eggs in one basket, as it were.

Ah no.

The earth is actually very, very slowly moving away from the sun - though not enough to make any difference (less than an inch/year).

You may be thinking of the day when the sun becames a giant star - the time when it's consumed most of its' hydrogen and starts fusing other atoms together thus swelling up until it is vastly larger than it is today - and swallowing the inner planets.

Alright, whether by traveling or expanding, the end result is the sun will get closer to earth and consume it.

Being a modern, PC, multicultural guy, before I could answer "when human civilization will END", I'd first have to know (1) How, and by whom, is 'human civilization' defined in the FIRST place?....(2) How will we KNOW if it ends? In some ways, hasn't it ALREADY ended..at least in certain neighborhoods?...(3) What's so wrong if it DOES end, anyway? Who says human civilization was ever necessarily GOOD, anyway?...(4) If it DOES end, will I be able to sag my pants, act any way I want, etc., without being 'hassled'?...(just wondering). Will I still get to skateboard?

My definitions are
1. human organization managing basic needs (food clothing shelter economics etc)
2, 3, 4 ted kasinski ring a bell? can't have a skateboard you didn't make yourself because infrastructure supporting mfg of a wheel is gone. How about a wooden wheel skateboard? You could whittle those in about... 3 weeks?

I've known the answer to this for years:

1. Liberals
2. Nosy Scientists Playing God

Now, many would also argue that you cannot simply download the human brain on a computer to "extend life"...life is more than synapses and neurons...
