SF is not some 50/50 city where it is some random coin-flip whether a crime victim voted for the woke liberal soft-on-crime politicians propagating soaring street crime and hordes of violent homeless living on the streets.
San Francisco is like NYC or Chicago or Philadelphia or Portland, Seattle, Memphis, Detroit, or Baltimore, where the vast majority of crime victims ALSO voted for the politicians and policies resulting in soaring, brazen crime.
Yes, the vast majority of them have no one to blame but themselves. Yes.
Not the logic you presented in this post:

It's up to the residents of SF to decide how they want crime treated.
And they will have to deal with the consequences such as business leaving including the photographer in OP because they doesn't want to do photo shoots in San Francisco anymore. Many will not bother to get married or settle down in the city either.
But this escalation from porch pirates, professional shoplifting and car break-ins to armed robbery is a natural evolution of unchecked of so called small or lesser crimes.
The numbers come from the DOJ, but thanks for your mindless excuses. You have no data, just feelings.
I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of those people blaming the actions of punks on liberal politics. It's all "feelings" and no facts. Conservative states have the same issues. Not every problem is political, no matter how desperately you want it to be.
Meaningless until you break it down by cities. Who controls each of those with the high crime? Until then your post is meaningless.

It's not meaningless because crime laws are either federal or state. Also, most population centers in this country tend to be Democratic, and there are more crimes in population centers. Correlation is not causation. Regardless, the fact is, Red states have more violent crimes then Blue states.
It's also easy too because it's mostly Asian couples and Asian photographers...all meek and weak and don't dare raise a fist against bangers. White guys would have fought back.

In San Francisco? I think you overestimate the soy boy tech bros.
The only way you're going to fight back against people with guns is with guns. In that case it's skill that matters, not size. I too hope that we get national carry.
Bottom line - it's unlikely these thugs are actually going to shoot anyone in broad daylight with lots of witnesses. The photographer apparently had photo shoots from other customers in his equipment, and he said that's what he was fighting for, which may have been many thousands of dollars worth of images.
The female photographer at the end said he was brave, but maybe he shouldn't have fought back. Exact wrong answer. If everyone fights back and doesn't just hand over their stuff, this wouldn't happen as often.
It's called concealed carry. I agree.
