Now that the election is over they can move forward with spending massive amounts of $$ and get us into a long war.

While Biden is Commander in Chief .

Best wishes for your son, sincerely.

Yeah, most of them in DC or their kids haven't served.

I agree, Russian missiles are hardly known for their accuracy but if they really wanted to attack Poland this would not be it. They launched hundreds of missiles on Kiev, a few could have been accidentally diverted by counter measures. Still very reckless and dangerous on Russias part.

so what was Russia aiming at in the first place...

Well, the Russians bombed a kids playground. What was that about? It's well known that they have been throwing poorly, or even untrained, solders onto the battle field. It doesn't seem a stretch at all to think someone typed the wrong coordinates into a couple of missile guidance systems.

Let’s remember, the US has thousands of troops stationed in Poland. It’s a serious escalation, even if it was not intentional. Poland and NATO have every right to retaliate.

Just to assuage people's worry around article 5 being invoked in light of the 2 killed in the Polish border town.

This is NOT the start of WW3, folks. Calm. However, Poland has a lot of options to make things incredibly unpleasant for Russia without kicking off WW3.

The situation is still developing and I will update this comment as confirmed information comes in.

The current most credible theory is:

• â US official have told POLITICO it was likely caused by a missile strike or errant missile, not remnants of a missile Ukrainian armed forces shot down.

Source:

• â Russia missiles did hit electrical infrastructure near Kovel, Ukraine, 50kms from the Polish border.

Source:

• â Ukraine confirmed earlier today 73 missiles (out of ~100) and 11 drones were shot down. Source:

A quick refresh on NATO bylaws:

• â Article 5: An attack on one member of NATO is an attack on all of its members.
• â Article 4: The Parties will consult together whenever, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the Parties is threatened.

Here's everything you wanted to know about Article Four of the North Atlantic Treaty but were afraid to ask.

No need to do anything ... it's only a matter of time before Putin brings on his own demise. He will not be able to maintain this military operation without using nukes. He's going to run out of troops, resources, and I don't see any major power really backing him, and that includes China. More likely China will sit back and let them cannibalize themselves and then take the leftovers.

If he launches any nukes, he guarantees his country's defeat and destruction. Until he launches nukes, the smart action here is what we've been doing... mostly trying to stay out of it. His own people will eventually take him out, or leave the country. Either way, Russia is bleeped. This incident was likely an accident.

all true...but look on the map where this is.....you can't get further away from the action than this

....don't be surprised if Ukraine did it

China plays the long game while we spin our wheels and fork over more money.
