Deporting doesn’t matter as much with an open border as they just come right back.

Penalize employers that hire illegals — no jobs
No schooling for illegal children
No welfare or freebies of any kind for illegals
Penalties for renting to or housing illegals.
Close the border with secure walls and increased border patrol
With these in place most illegals here will self-deport
At the same time we need to increase LEGAL immigration wherever it’s truly needed — ie agriculture, Comstruction, landscaping etc
And neither does Texas. Other states do, but not Texas. E-verify is not perfect but for the employers it's free and about as painless as it could possibly be. TX and CA do not require it for identical reasons. They have different attitudes and TX is more 1990s CA in that regard. They're pro illegals states. There's reasons for that, of course. After so many decades of being pro illegals it's hard to change. Reagan did the blanket amnesty for that reason. It was really supposed to be a three step process, blanket amnesty, immigration reform so the needed labor could come in legally, and border security such that they stopped walking across illegally. The second two parts never happened though so we're just back in 1986 again with a bunch of illegals, states like Texas and CA that want the illegals as their economies are dependent upon them, dysfunctional immigration policy, and illegals streaming over the borders to take the jobs American employers are eager to give them since they're mostly operating in states like TX and CA that are pro illegal.
Bussing a bunch of legal immigrants around the country as Abbott is doing has literally nothing to do with trying to stop illegal immigrants. They're here legally seeking asylum in our broken system. I don't think Abbott is going about it the best way but they do need to be moved form the border to the interior. There's just too many of them for Texas to handle and it's not Texas' fault it takes 3-4 years to get an amnesty hearing. That's a federal issue that Texas can't do anything about.

The cellphones are basically low jack so they can be found again provided they're using the free phone. Since it takes 3-4 years, they tend to wander off waiting for the hearings and then you have to locate them.
The magnet is really employment. You'll never entirely stop it as there's the underground economy. A McDonald's franchise, however, is expensive which makes it very easy discourage one from hiring illegals. The day laborers at Home Depot are more difficult as a lot of them are paid cash under the table. Yes, you can do sting operations but it's like cracking down on prostitution. It just moves around. As with prostitution, punitive measures against the Johns are actually more effective than against the prostitutes. If a prospective employer knows the fines and jail time escalate quickly for repeated offenses they are less likely to hire illegals. The chances of them getting caught on each individual occasion may be low and maybe you make the first time a slap on the wrist because Jerry is 75 and just hired someone to mow his lawn every other week.
One of the few legitimate functions of the federal government is to protect the nation against foreign invasion. Since they are too incompetent to do even that, I guess the states will have to take matters into their own hands. Let the feds occupy themselves with emptying Biden's bedpan and keeping him supplied with hot cocoa and blankies.

You know, if a highly trained snipers shot a few of these gate crashers in the leg, all the rest would turn around and run, and that would be the end of this. That would save Hundreds of lives...illegals dying in the back of trucks, falling off the fence, drowning, being killed by Coyotes, ect..
