Invasion? By people who want to make money and improve their lives, just like you would do in their tough situation?
We need to legalize immigration. That's the only solution to illegal immigration. Only deport the criminals, people who are harming anyone or causing problems. Everybody else, welcome them in, and hand them a work visa, figure out how to have them pay fair amount of taxes, and let's boost our economy together in friendship. We don't need to bring the snipers into this.
Interesting? LOL, yes indeed. However this could have and should have happened way before now. Better late than never. The only way we can secure the border now is to get rough. Turn these people back forcefully and let it be known playtimes over children. I leave it to individual readers minds as to what that constitutes. Make it happen TX.
You know, if a highly trained snipers shot a few of these gate crashers in the leg, all the rest would turn around and run, and that would be the end of this. That would save Hundreds of lives...illegals dying in the back of trucks, falling off the fence, drowning, being killed by Coyotes, ect..
A few years ago they did. IIRC, a drug smuggler was running across the border while being pursued by 2 CPB agents. He wouldn't stop.
They shot. He was in Mexico. They were in Texas. It hit the fan. They got convicted of something. Rep. Ted Poe got involved and they were freed from jail.
Deporting doesn’t matter as much with an open border as they just come right back.
We need to STOP THE MAGNETS that bring them here.
Penalize employers that hire illegals — no jobs
No schooling for illegal children
No welfare or freebies of any kind for illegals
Penalties for renting to or housing illegals.
Close the border with secure walls and increased border patrol
With these in place most illegals here will self-deport
At the same time we need to increase LEGAL immigration wherever it’s truly needed — ie agriculture, Comstruction, landscaping etc
Most of these suggestions have already been considered and deemed not legal. The courts said the kids can go to public school. They use the one anchor baby to get benefits. Who will watch a baby starve and be homeless.
I'm one who thinks anybody wanting in will get in, so walls might redirect and slow them down but will not stop them.

Exactly, just like the War on Drugs didn't stop people from smoking crack on the corner, or dope in the dorm room.
Ladders are a thing. Tunnels are a thing. A wall is stupid, dystopian, anti-American, waste of time and money. You all could get rid of 90% of illegal immigration tonight, permanently, by making their peaceful actions legal. Quit the fear mongering nonsense and the general cultural/racial nativism, which is never what this country was supposed to be about. Focus on the bad apples if there's bad apples in the batch.

OMFG, there IS a process for people to follow to come to this country LEGALLY. So I’m not sure why you’re saying that we need to “legalize” immigration, as we already do! The problem, of course, is these people who can’t be bothered to follow the rules, and our Democrats who aid, encourage, and condone their actions.

It has only been since Trump raised awareness that illegals have been on most folks radar. In Texas nobody cared who crossed the border as long as it was Mexicans willing to work under the table.
Nobody gave a damn about the USA destroying whatever was left of Nicaragua going after the Sandinistas. We even made a hero out of the guy selling dope to buy guns.
Now that they are the ones coming in, we need a wall.
Don't get me wrong. I want it stopped at 100,000 a year anybodies total.
But this out of control border is an equal opportunity mess. Both sides have their reasons for wanting it. From the bleeding heart the USA should save the world to the people who want cheap labor.
BTW, it was not liberals who stopped E Verify in Texas. It was 15 minutes from passing and a builder and a grocer sent their lobbyist in to stop it. The State requires E verify, but does not require private employers to use it.
But IMO, E Verify is just one more kick the can scam. It does not check people, it checks papers. They can be stolen or counterfeit.

I think the OP meant that we should change our laws to make those things legal, and THEN enact them.
