I aLways said it should be a civil union issued by the government for both gay and straight. After that you can go to whatever church or whatever and do whatever you want. It's very simple.
And hallelujah - that's EXACTLY the way it is now! When you get married in a church, you may or may not get some kind of certificate issued by the church. What you will get is a marriage certificate issued by the state, because that IS what makes it a legal marriage.

Last time I looked it wasn't gays going door to door trying to recruit people to a perverted and abhorrent lifestyle - it was Mormons and Christians.
From my experience it is christian extremists who groom their children to hate those who are different than them in their bible schools and who indoctrinate the children with "home schooling."
It is christians, not gays who have flooded the country with billboards and giant semi-trucks with "Jesus Saves" in ten foot letters.
I don't see any gay churches on nearly every street corner in many towns. I don't see gays holding giant meetings every sunday to indoctrinate their believers into religious cults.
I can't think of any wars started or genocide committed by lgbt people. But nearly every war in history has had some sort of religious connection.
I don't see gays throwing muslims off of buildings or hanging or stoning them for practicing their religion.
All I see is bigoted, christian extremists having strokes because some people don't live exactly according to the way they think people should live.
All I see is angry, hate filled so-called christians trying to destroy the lives of lgbt people.
And I don't see gays comparing christians to nazis and calling them fascists as one poster here did.
