It appears as if the Brooklyn has wrested control of the Dems in Congress.

Schumer will lead the Dems in the Senate and Hakeem Jeffries will lead the Dems in the House.

Both from Brooklyn. Coincidence? Or a plot by the Eastern liberal elite?

it’s all the same. the politicians in LA believe the same exact stuff they do in NYC…or at least say they do to retain political power which equals money.

Jeffries lives across the street from my family's residence in Brooklyn. I lost what little respect I had for him when he started pushing the provably false "hands up, don't shoot" nonsense in response to the shooting of Michael Brown some years ago. And he's gone even farther down hill since.

I went to high school in the Bronx and can tell you that Brooklyn was like a city in another state entirely. It is like the difference between the south side and the west side in Chicago -- two different places.

Interesting that you write that, as I feel that the same can still be said for the Bronx today

I lived not too far from Hakeem's east Brooklyn district. It's not a place you'd want to find yourself at any time of day, let's just put it that way.

Pre-most recent redistricting, I'd agree with you on the eastern part of the district. It currently extends pretty far west into Downtown Brooklyn and right outside of Brooklyn Heights. It also covers Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, and is directly adjacent to Prospect Heights.

But post-redistricting, the district is a lot poorer and doesn't extend as far west as it once did.
