He can't get loan forgiveness through Congress now because, in addition to the Republicans who don't want it, there are Progressives who won't agree to anything less than full forgiveness. So come January it isn't going to happen either.

Unless there is huge pushback from more groups, at this point I think it is probably pretty safe to say that anyone who has a Student loan won't have to pay on it at least through 2024.

Not arguing it is or isn't unconstitutional...just wondering if there are pending cases on delaying payment.
Yes, 2 courts have prevented this from moving forward. Further repeals are futile..its unconstitional.

Go ahead and stop paying. The worst thing that can happen is your social security retirement will be garnished. If these people are so irresponsible that they refuse to pay off their student loans then I suspect they are not saving for retirement either. Pro tip- Old Roy dog food isn't all that bad tasting and you want to reserve a spot under the middle of the bridge for your sleeping bag so if it's windy the rain won't reach you. Have a fun life scum bags.

No it won't. not only did the administration pause the loans, anyone who had a delinquent loan got the "delinquent" removed.

Not one single student loan is delinquent now.

And we have many "non degreed borrowers". This is the WH language for DROP OUTS

They can't pay up..a good portion of them ARE losers
Close to 60% of student loan borrowers don't have a degree.

And these numbers are for those NOT in school...graduated/dropped out
Current students taking classes are not counted in these government figures or bailouts.

Their credit is already ruined anyways. Millions of Americans have too much debt from these loans to every buy a house, etc.. It's entirely possible to pay the minimum payments and have the interest add up faster than it's being paid off. It's going to be a lead anchor that sinks the economy in the future.

No he very explicitly does have the power to suspend payments for a time. You're confusing a payment pause and actually forgiving the debt. Two different issues from a legal standpoint.
