Would those same liberals allow religious education in schools, religious books, crosses on the wall, priests and nun story hour, and field trips to churches?

You aren't aware that many parents have spoken about this issue at school board meetings and such??? Are you denying that there are trans people/activists speaking out against people pushing trans surgery on children? They are literally using themselves as evidence of why it is wrong.
I'm sure you can do a Google search and find out more about these activists. I don't actually recall their names at the moment. Some posters here have supplied links to videos in the past, which is how I heard about these activists in the first place. Their message made it clear that all is not well this this tranny stuff being pushed on children. Maybe some people mean well, but we know predators exist. Other people are too afraid of speaking out against anything woke, and this tranny stuff is definitely part of that whole woke mob thing for some reason.

No, it doesn't. Separation of church and state is about government sponsored religion, not discussing religion in a public school.
It comes from the Church of England being established as the "official" church of England to end Catholic authority there. The Founders here did not want an official church here and wanted religion kept separate from government, which is where the term "freedom of religion" comes from.
It is one of the most misunderstood parts of the Constitution and most people get it wrong.

The Rainbow flag seems to have ever more colours added.
I think it now has a colour to represent ever type of body fluid involved in LGBTQ+ sex.

People deciding that they are a different gender than their sex has exploded in recent years and is also thought be in part influenced by kids getting hooked into online pro trans forums. Transitioning was much more rare pre 2014 (the date of the more recent study referenced). Will transition regret become more common since the rates of transitioning have exploded?

It's more rampant today than it ever was.
BUT trans activists are doing everything they can to attack and doxx those who have regret and anger about their transitions, and who wish to return to living as their biological sex.
The primary identifier of a cult is how they treat those who no longer buy the ideology. If the person who decides it's not for them is treated with anger, violence, harassment and gaslighting? It's a cult.
Transgenderism as it is practiced TODAY is a cult. Don't dare turn your back on it or they will destroy you.
That's it. But that wasn't "good enough.' That's not what's being taught, which is why 20% of today's young adults think that they are LGBTQ.
They aren't LGBTQ. They have been trained to think that they are.
