California Mulls Ban On All Gas And Diesel Truck Fleets
California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) has laid out a plan to ban all diesel-powered trucks that would cause inflationary ripples throughout the entire economy.
The plan would mandate that all new trucks operating around busy railways and ports be zero emission vehicles by 2024 – while all diesel trucks would be phased out by 2035, and eventually, banishing every truck and bus fleet from California roads by 2045, where feasible, according to SFGATE.
California has passed a ban on the sale of all gasoline powered vehicles in the state. Those arguing for it here on City Data were saying how it is not a ban on gas powered vehicles, just new ones. Old ones are grandfathered in.
Well, hello doncha know. The new proposal is not a ban on the sale of new gas and diesel trucks, but a complete ban on the operation of any and all gas and diesel trucks by 2045. How long before CARB banishes all gas powered cars as well, including all used cars?
Bear in mind that CARB is not a legislative body but an agency full of unelected bureaucrats making defecto law.
CA has a lot to learn. Why is the world so full of idiots? Someday green energy will be practical. Wishful thinking doesn't it make it so at this moment.

Gutter level, low information voters. We have a plenty of them.
My brother in law is an OTR owner/operator trucker and he refuses hauling loads to California at any price. If more truckers start doing the same then California will be in a world of hurt as they should be for being stupid.
