WHO said it was concerned by the “racist and stigmatizing language” that arose after monkeypox spread to more than 100 countries. It said numerous individuals and countries asked the organization “to propose a way forward to change the name.”
what "individuals or countries" did the world health organization say were being stigmatized by the name monkeypox??? how strange. there are diseases called cowpox, swineflu and chickenpox. is the WHO changing those names, too? are "individuals and countries" worried cowpox, swineflu, and chickenpox are "racist and stigmatizing language"??
