It's quite sad how many of these families want to send their children to schools that worship god and not worship drugs that are bad for health.

The Middle School with 10 overdoses in Los Angeles is in a neighborhood full of drug gangs called Van Nuys and the High School in Denver that had a mass overdose situation is also adjacent to a large area known for drug gangs.

On Thursday morning, the emergency services in heavily Democratic Los Angeles and Denver were very busy responding to drug overdoses at public schools.

I've lived in upper middle class subdivisions most of my parent adult life and all of my teen years.

This kind of stuff happens even in the most 'cosnervative' of ares.

Kids in midddle schools do drugs and sometimes they do stupid stuff with drugs.

But if it makes you feel better to think it is only 'liberal' states/communities/areas......put your blinders on people.

Happens everywhere...there was a wealthy subdivision in Texas where the local HS had major issues with cocaine.
Drugs and kids exist in all areas and politics have nothing to do with it.

And what are the families doing about their kids using drugs. Don’t put the blame on schools. But even students in religious schools use drugs

This situation keeps getting worse. That's what should be acknowledged in all of this, instead of trying to shift the blame back and forth. We all should get it by now... Our politicians aren't going to do much about this to help, whether R or D. Neither side offers a reasonable workable solution, and that is the primary problem here.

Why are you looking to government to solve your kids drug issues. What are parents doing about it

I don't have kids. The government does have some basic responsibilities, like securing the border. We know an awful lot of the fentanyl that is causing so many of the OD deaths is coming from south of the border, yet we all know the border is not secure. That should not be. Government is failing in it's role of protecting the people in that regard. Kamala is the "border czar". When will you hold her responsible? This seems like a dereliction of duty.

That is a sad state of affairs. I am glad I not grow up in LA during the 90s when there was a lot of street gangs, and of course now. My parents likely cannot afford the private schools.

Kids have been using drugs forever. So securing the border won’t make any difference. And don’t blame the government for parents ineptness

Disagree. It's a whole new ballgame with fentanyl floating around out there. And most of it's coming from south of the border. Stopping the flow is the simplest and most obvious solution to this problem. It's too great a problem to ignore.

Parents can only arm their children with the knowledge, but they can't make the decisions for them. Don't blame them. It's not always their fault. Especially when the schools are full of drugs apparently. Parents have no control over things like peer pressure.
