Not a fan of Lemon's but he clearly states that the DOJ concluded Brown didn't have his hands up but that the phrase became the rallying cry. Which it did --- maybe for wrong reasons but he wasn't wrong that people used it right?

What phrase is misinformation.
It was a complete lie presented as truth. That is misinformaton.
The hands up don't shoot lie served to stir the pot of racist divide. There are plenty of people out there that want to and will believe it really happened no matter the evidence that it did not because in their minds Black people are being targeted by racist cops with itchy trigger fingers. These are the same types that believe the Jussie Smollet farce.
Don Lemon.... he just can't help himself in trying to stay relevant.

Errr, the media ran with certain early unsubstantiated claims from a minority of witnesses, including a relative of Michael Brown they cited whom wasn't even present at the shooting.
The problem is that once something gets dishonestly presented as fact early on, it sticks with some folks regardless of whatever facts later emerge.
Fortunately, with the expansion of the use of bodycams, if the Michael Brown incident were to reoccur today it would die down pretty fast....or develop to charges....a win for both good cops and our citizens no matter how rich, poor, brown or white.
The poor quality of media and thier ratings chases are a big part of the problem as they try to stay financially solvent.
