good for her. fingers crossed she can get anything resembling a fair trial in NYC.

Quote:
A Queens woman accused of driving her car through a Black Lives Matter protest rejected a plea deal for the second time — even though she could face up to seven years in the slammer if convicted at trial.

Kathleen Casillo, 53, plowed her BMW into pedestrians in Midtown Manhattan in a caught-on-video incident in December 2020, but she has claimed she hit the pedal out of fear of an angry mob that was trying to pull her and her daughter from the car.

Casillo’s lawyer told The Post she said no to a deal that would have had her plead guilty in exchange for a one-year driver license suspension and six days of community service.

Imagine facing the choice she was forced to face... Either allow a mob of people to have their way with you and your loved ones, or flee and face possibly murder charges or worse.

They'd be tossing poor ol me in the clink for sure.

It's a disgrace that she is even being charged. She should be given the keys to the city for her bravery against the mob.

This reminds me of how they went after that bodega worker who stabbed his attacker in self defense.

They went after him and tossed him in a cold hard cell while he awaited trial, but at least they had the good sense to drop the charges eventually.

Democrats have been pushing the wrong people around by going after the innocent folks just trying to survive the craziness caused by all these brainwashed hyper partisan zealots.

Hopefully all her defense has to do is show the jury the tapes of what happened again and ask them....

What would you do differently if you were her?

God bless her , and good luck.

I hate stuff like this.

Mom did the right thing.

Her options - succumb to an angry mob where they both would have been beaten and possibly incurred loss of life.

Run them down and take your chances in court and still have your health and life.

Sue the others for property damage.

It would be nice if the community would stick up for her.

It's all fun and games for the mob until people push back - then they want to act all offended and hurt.

NYC doesn't have "community". It's a concrete jungle and everyone fights ruthlessly for their share of the limited spoils. If someone is looking for "community", they should consider moving to Texas or Florida perhaps. Or find another country, because the democrats are filling people's minds with division and hate (competitive spirit they may call it), not peace, love and harmony.

I recall years ago when that hurricane hit Texas, the young and able bodied men, and women too, coming out in droves to assist those in need. In NYC, the able bodied men would most likely be looting and stealing, since that's what goes on during any ordinary day of the week there.

absolutely. in a fair world, she would.

I wouldn't be surprised if she's also facing civil lawsuits from the bozos she hit with her car.

Pedestrians? How about criminals, rapists and murderers. She did this country a favor.

she is a brave woman for rejecting the plea deal. it doesn’t pay to live in states where they prosecute the innocent and protect the violent.
