The Supreme Court on Thursday delayed a decision on whether to grant President Joe Biden's bid to implement his student loan forgiveness plan, announcing instead that it will hear full oral arguments on an expedited basis.

In a brief order, the court said it would hear arguments in February with a decision soon to follow. In the meantime, the plan remains blocked.

My "guess" is it gets shot down fairly quickly, with the 3 left wing activist justices not going along with the law.

But one never knows. Maybe there is some sort of strange loophole where the President of the United States can act as a dictator when he feels like it.

If that happens, slippery slope my friend. Slippery slope.

It is ridiculous that it is even going this far. The whole scheme of Cash for Flunkers is stupid. Why should a working class stiff that did not go to college because he could not afford it OR he had no interest but instead went into the trades and had to buy a truck and the tools to go to work be forced to help someone that did go to college but didn't have a plan on how they would pay back their loans after they graduated with their worthless degree?

When will we be hearing the charge that these poor kids were victims of the Predatory Lenders that forced them to sign away their futures?

I hope the SC tosses the case out but the Dems have already gotten what they wanted from it. They won the Midterms by dangling the hope of a payout to the young voters that probably would have voted for them anyway.

Of course IF the SC does toss it out the Dems will then blame the Right leaning majority as the reason.

Either way the Dems win politically but if we can avoid paying out the Billions of dollars the country wins in the end.

It isn't ridiculous to go to court. It's a good move. I'm not a fan of the program because it does nothing to solve issues.

I wonder if they knew it would go there and was likely to be thrown out?

The midterms weren't won with student loan forgiveness. There was always the risk it wouldn't get pass the SC.

Midterms weren't good for Republicans because of OZ, Walker, etc....get good candidates who have solid mandates and the Republicans should win

Duh.

If anyone really thought they were gonna see one single red cent, they're idiots and fell for it.

Supreme Court will (rightfully) shut this down so fast heads will spin. Repubs look like bad guys but who cares.

Roberts will vote to allow student loan forgiveness, so it is just a question of if they can peel off kavanaugh or Coney-Barrett.

It was never intended to be allowed.

The plan all along was to dangle it, have the SCOTUS obviously shoot it down and then blame the Republicans.

I mean come on, this is politics 101 here.
