Republicans don’t like big government.

Florida is solid red Republican.

If there really are no FEMA trailers, then they are getting what they want.

Quite simple.

Yes a little political hyperbole. Both DeSanti and Biden don't micromanage the response to the tragedy. And yes it seems -- as usual --- the help isn't fast enough.

But it is up to the state to keep the federal govt. apprised of things.

And yes local authorities have to let the state know.
Plaese cite your source that says that this isn't being done?

Default I guess that's progress??

To date, a whopping 13 trailers have been provided by FEMA to families in Florida. That's out of approximately 3200 request.

It’s the modern society. FEMA outsources living quarters to hotels vs old school trailers. Trailers are old school and outdated method of support.

Almost 6,000 needy families are being housed in hotels vs substandard trailers. Maybe the leftover trailers can go to SanFran to support their homeless problem.

It does appear that FEMA is not being swift with providing trailers, although some news sources says that many people are being housed in motels, hotels, community centers, etc.

One interesting thing I read: FEMA trailers cannot be put into flood zones. I imagine that includes much of the area affected by Hurricane Ian. It appears that this includes a huge swath of Florida:

FEMA trailers were delayed after Hurricane Michael hit Florida in 2018, while Trump was president. Some people waited more than 10 months for trailers.

It’s taking forever for Hurricane Michael disaster aid to reach the wrecked Florida Panhandle

The county is giving them money for an Airbnb yet the federal government that has deep Deep Pockets for every kind of useless stupid program can't even help the people get a trailer to put a roof over their head.

FEMA needs a place to put the trailers. They cannot be placed in a flood zone. One sad article was about a man unable to get a FEMA trailer. Turns out he was a shrimper who lived on his boat so he had nowhere to put the trailer.

IMO, FEMA should be destroyed, never to return.

It is not the business of the federal taxpayer to subsidize and/or clean up messes people get themselves into by making dumb choices.

Any lender making a mortgage on a dwelling in a flood prone or hurricane area should take the fall.
