Disabled Canadian Army veteran Paralympian blasts government for offering to EUTHANIZE her when she complained about how long it was taking to install stairlift at her home
A disabled veteran in Canada has slammed her government for offering to euthanize her when she grew frustrated at delays in having a wheelchair lift installed in her home.
Retired Army Corporal Christine Gauthier, a former Paralympian, testified in Parliament on Thursday that a Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) caseworker made the assisted suicide offer.
After years of frustrating delays in getting the home lift, Gauthier says the caseworker told her: 'Madam, if you are really so desperate, we can give you medical assistance in dying now.'

"We remain confident that this is all related to one single employee, and it's not a widespread or a systemic issue," he said.
Earlier Thursday, the National Post reported on a possible fifth case involving a still-serving member of the military who told the podcast Tango Romeo that he was also unexpectedly offered MAID by a caseworker in November of last year.
Later, however, one of the five cases brought to light was actually a non-case due to it becoming proven the verteran had previously contacted the Veteran's Affairs office to specifically enquire about MAID.
So, in summation of that issue: An Individual, or another, acting in the capacity of case worker and rehab specialist may have violated the specific terms covered in the MAID Legislative Act and are now under investigation by "Canada's government" due to it being, if proven to have happened exactly as suggested, being patently illegal and punishable by law.
So, in that case Kamarade Corrie, the spreading of dis-information with the express purpose of "erringly" disparaging Canada as a country Federally supporting such activity is more indicative of a "communist mandate" than the country you're attempting to castigate.

If you expect the powers that be to "fair" while a killing permit is available, you be the first in line my friend.
Christine Gauthier stated this to Canadian Parliament:
"I can't believe that you...will give me an injection to help me die, but you will not give me the tools I need to help me live."
What has happened to make the progressive liberal movement mentally deranged that they have embraced the same unethical tactics that the Nazis used to "improve their society"?
Canada's MAID plan can easily be used to "eliminate" a person that the government or an individual wishes to kill. It is not health care--it is sanitizing murder.

She can say or believe whatever she wants, but one person suggesting MAID doesn't mean she qualifies.
A single caseworker is NOT the system. This caseworker should be disciplined obviously.
So her statement isn't accurate since no one has given her the tools to die. She has to apply, pass all the requirements which are strict, and have 2 independent medical doctors agree that she does qualify.
My guess, is that she doesn't, and especially won't be given the tools to die, because she doesn't want to.
She has an axe to grind with VA and it's caseworker, not with MAID.

Except hey found at least four other veterans who were offered suicide without asking for it. Assisted suicide is cheaper than long term care so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was an unofficial method by some administrators to reduce the budget.
