Neither is acceptable. I don’t see that hate speech agains Christians has increased on Twitter.

The worst thing anyone can do to hurt him is to ignore him.
Twitter has agreements with the government over moderation, that didn’t just disappear when Musk took over. The European Union is meeting with them next week to insure they are addressing the issue.

Kanye should be banned for his comments.

The left idea of, “hate speech” is stating something anything they don’t agree with. Not buying this nonsense.

I like twitter now. It’s refreshing not to have it so censored

According to chart of data in elon's tweet below, hate speech impressions are lower since he bought twitter.

Elon Musk
@elonmusk
12:53 PM · Dec 2, 2022
Hate speech impressions (# of times tweet was viewed) continue to decline, despite significant user growth!
@TwitterSafety will publish data weekly.
Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom of reach. Negativity should & will get less reach than positivity.

There are about 500M tweets per day & billions of impressions, so hate speech impressions are <0.1% of what’s seen on Twitter!

Your experience is not a bot looking for examples of specific words across the board. That is how the stats are compiled. You are probably not personally looking at more than a couple of million tweets a day.

It matters who says what words and how they are said. Certain words are designed to put people down. Racial slurs and anti women slurs fall in that category.

Two women joking with each other "dumb c"
Man angry at woman "dumb c".

First instance is two women disarming that word and the second scenario is a man reminding a woman she is lower than himself. Personally, as a woman, if a man starts getting bitchy with me I'll call him it first. Hey, if he can say it so can I.

Advertisers don't care about moderated forums. Advertisers only care how much a website is being utilized. YouTube has som horrible things from heavy profanity to graphic content. They don't ban it. They often carry a warning, but that is it.

Advertisers will treat Twitter in whatever manner is best for them. If a more open forum with less censorship increases genuine membership (not bots) and increases utilization, the advertisers will follow.

Companies don't moralize. They do whatever maximized their bottom line. They will pretend to moralize if that maximizes profits.
