"Criticism is for thee, not me", at many of the leftist rags.
Even if right leaning news outlets have a lot more whites than blacks, they do not go fishing for stories about how blacks are under-represented in fields they may not have any interest in.

Those over at WaPo have a lot more influence over things that matter vs. guys who study sharks. The irony is that most people in that field are white, with no barriers to keep other races out.
Frankly, a lot of blacks are too smart to get in the water with a bunch of man-eating sharks.

It should also be pointed out that WaPo actually did this article based on a "study".

The "Study" was done by some white woman who got money from some government agency to "study" shark week" to see if it had too many white guys.
