We all know the old saying that was misattributed to Prime Minister Churchill: "If you aren’t a liberal when you’re 25, you have no heart, but if you aren’t a conservative when you're 40, you have no head." Well apparently Millennials are bucking that trend and making the left turn for Albuquerque. Millennials are not trending to be conservative... in England. I think to an extent, we see it in America too but this video is specifically on the UK issues.

Now before you jump on me, do not throw anecdotes at me. Yes I know your son is a Trump supporter. Yes, I have friends on Facebook that post anti-Biden crap that I went to high school with. Yes, I even ended a friendship over Facebook politics with a conservative millennial. Yes, I see several on dating apps too. We are talking trends though.

Many millennials and GenZ favor socialism, entitlement, free stuff, etc.., who have no interest in working and/or contributing to society. Keep passing out free stuff and shrinking that tax base and see how it works out.

And here we go with inane generation jabs again.

Arbitrary lines drawn around years of birth mean close to zero.

Can't speak for everyone, but as a millennial I've begun to care less and less about social issues. The reality is that social issues don't help me in my day-to-day life.

YMMV

They were indoctrinated at schools. That didn’t used to happen.

It’s going to take a little more to grow them up.

I can understand that. I think the bigger thing honestly is that millennials as an whole have not accumulated wealth to worry about wealth accumulation like past generations, which typically is one of things causing people to lean conservative as they get older. Home ownership for millennials seems so far out of reach that many have given up home ownership, which also is typically one of the thing causing people to lean conservative as they get older. Finally having families and having "traditional family values" is not as valued by millennials. I know as many millennials that have no kids (whether married or not) as those that have kids.

I think the pinch in the paycheck tends to get people to look around a bit more.

You start making better money in your later 20s, early 30s and you see that chunk missing. You slowly start to put two and two together.

Slowly it dawns on people that there ain't no free lunch. I'm not talking about people understanding that we need to have taxes and a certain level of government and all that goes with it. I'm talking about stupid excess and waste.

This is where people start going more center from the far left.

It feels painful when you get into the weeds of details of where your tax money goes.

Just ask the 40 yr old milenials, they get it. No one is automatically right winger, but center seems more likely.

I don't think it was indoctrination at all. What I think it is mostly is what I posted in the reply directly below your's.

I know enough that I learned what “quiet quitting” is, lol. I’m also able to read stats of actual millennials. Just a few of many articles.
