Personally I don't really care but I'm sure someone here has something to say about this.

Clips from the brand new movie “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!,” which show the Mystery Inc. member googly-eyed and speechless when encountering costume designer Coco Diablo, have gone viral on Twitter, confirming suspicions held by the “Scooby” fan base for decades.

I think it's okay if Scooby also stepped out of the closet and let his freak flag fly. Dogs need love too.

i always figured she was non-binary since at least last year when the term was first invented by a 14 year old tiktok star. we all collectively clapped our hands in approval and said “how brave” in a breathy yet affirming voice.

Either way, cue the outrage about a fictional character.
We didn’t think about this kind of stuff when SD came out.

The show creators copied the Dobie Gillis characters and added a talking dog.

Velma doesn’t exist. The entire show is simply Shaggy having hallucinations after swallowing a fistful of drugs. That’s my theory, anyway.

If Velma is a lesbo and comes out, it will ruin the character.
The is she/isn’t she aspect of the character was one of the interesting traits of Velma.
It kinda made her hot, in that nerdy-hot way. She comes out, rather “they” make her come out, and that whole hot mystique of the character is gone. She just becomes another run of the mill token gay character to please the wokies.
