This whole thing is horrible. I said to my friend “well at least there is no race card that can possibly be played.”

But leave it to Van Jones who called 2016 a “white lash” after 8 years of a beloved AA president.

This man is such a disgrace.

But the narrative “White cop kills unarmed Black man” should never have been the sole lens through which we attempted to understand police abuse and misconduct. It’s time to move to a more nuanced discussion of the way police violence endangers Black lives.

For anybody that wants to read what he wrote.

I don't have a strong opinion on Jones' opinion. Just think it is important to provide context.

Not surprised. Everything is racist. Every incident is the fault of the White man.

He's complicit in promoting that very lens though.

It was ALL done for political theatre, that Republicans (white) were evil racists supporting the police and the Democrats (POC) were asking for justice and "protecting minorities" even though they ran the cities for decades with the absolute worst reputations for police abuses.

Whom else around here is complicit in pushing a racial policing narrative for political leverage?

BLM was hijacked for politics and folks like Jones' jumped on that ship. Now he's trying to claim he was never on board.

Hey, can we get a quote from Rahm Emanuel on this? He got to be ambassador to Japan after helping hide a police shooting of a black kid despite being caught.

Just tired of the BS.

BLM was always about violence, terrorism and bullying from the very beginning.

The “hijack” didn’t change their mission, it just enabled widespread financial fraud.

I just still remember watching CNN election night 2016 and him yelling on the panel WHITELASH WHITELASH....

I am a center-right republican 40ish man who is very open minded and has all types of people in my life, politically and otherwise. I have never once heard one person mention Obama's race in my life, other than it being cool that we had our first AA president. Ever.

I still think it's awesome we had an AA president. Now we need a woman.

How was 2016 a whitelash? That has stuck in my craw since them.

Van Jones is a truly disgusting human being.
