'It's demonic!' Eight-foot gold statue with twisting horns and tentacles paying homage to Ruth Bader Ginsburg's fight for abortion rights is erected on NYC courthouse - but locals mock the 'satanic' eyesore
The sculpture bears little resemblance to Justice Ginsburg, who died in 2020
The widely mocked artwork stands alongside stone statues of famed lawmakers
Was there any public input whatsoever before a satanic golden medusa demon with tentacle arms was installed atop a downtown courthouse,' Paladino asked on Twitter. 'Who thinks this is okay? And how do we go about removing it?'
What a stupid looking statue to represent RBG and it does not belong on the court house.
I do like it on the ground with its "skirt" but Geez how does this thing represent RBG's fight for Abortion Rights? It looks more like a Demon that will torment a woman for murdering her baby !
How do these things get green lighted and funded? We can add this one to the MLK thing in Boston.

It probably looked amazing... As a computer model or simulation. In reality, things sometimes turn out different though.
The MLK statue was 3D printed, so I am fairly certain that had something to do with the grotesque nature of the final product. Little details weren't depicted so well on a computer screen, and the project rolled forward. Computer models don't take everything into account, like shadows.
Pakistani-American Artist Shahzia Sikander, 53, told The New York Times the statue was meant to symbolize 'a fierce woman and a form of resistance in a space that has historically been dominated by patriarchal representation.'
That statue is gross. Why naked? Why the big hips and thighs? Why would anyone put [male] rams horns on a "fierce woman?"
How did something like this, and the MLK monstrosity in Boston get approved? Do artists today not understand that a statue honoring a person is supposed to look like the person? This is no place for so-called modern art interpretations. Geeze.
City Counsel Members are calling it the "Satanic Golden Medusa" statue. Its meant to be an abortion statue. People are already talking about not only having it removed but destroyed.
From the Article talking about some comments about the Statute

'I like how it is right next to the old statues so that everyone can very clearly see how ugly modern art is compared to what was historically made,' they wrote.
I would not be surprised if the Woke answer to that is...Well let's get rid of the old statues.
The only good thing for New York is that it is only going to be there until June...when it gets moved to Houston. Can't wait to see where they put it there.
