Meh.... Even nutty politics couldn't destroy America.
We have enough energy to be self-sufficient; the largest section of arable land in the entire world; have friendly borders North and South, and a moat East and West; have the best seaports in the world, both East and West; have such a large network of rivers and water than even Tulsa, OK has access to the open sea, and have so many people who want to come here we have to beat them back at the border.
Plus, people who are born here are citizens, so in spite of our Birth Dearth our population end economy will grow for a very long time.

We'll be fine.

The Soviet Union was never a peer to the United States. The only danger for the United States was a Soviet-Chinese alliance. Which is why Henry Kissinger was so intent on creating the "Sino-Soviet split". With China and Russia together, we would have lost the Cold War. In order to get China effectively on our side, we made agreements with them that gave them favorable access to US markets. Let alone agreeing to the One-China policy.

If you don't believe me, just listen to Richard Nixon explain it in this video...

Quote:
"Even if there were no Soviet Union, it was essential that the United States move now and move when it did in rapprochement with China, and the reason is that fundamentally 1/4th of all the people in the world live in the People's Republic of China, it has enormous natural resources, and the Chinese people, as Chinese are among the most capable people in the world. Look what they've done in Taiwan, look in non-communist areas, in Hong Kong, in Singapore, Thailand, San Francisco, you name it. And once that power is mobilized it is going to be an enormous force in the world, for good or for bad. I think DeGaulle hit it in 1969 most effectively when he said cryptically, better for you to recognize China when they need you than wait till later when their power is such that you'll need them. So in order to build the kind of world that we want our grandchildren to live in in the 21st century it was essential that the United States, the most powerful and prosperous in the free world, have a renewed relationship with the People's Republic of China. So I say to some of those who object to that initiative, had it not been undertaken, and if China, due to the fact that they did not have any guarantee of their security from the United States vis-a-vis the Soviet Union, had been forced back under the Soviet umbrella, the geopolitical relationship and balance in the world would be almost hopelessly against us at this time." - Richard Nixon
You have to understand, there is no globalism without the United States. It is the US Navy that protects all of the international trade routes. It is the US military who is policeman of the world. The United States only expends our treasure to maintain the global system because we have historically been the largest beneficiary of it. The real problem facing America today is that China is now the largest beneficiary of the global system of trade. And thus, the United States is essentially subsidizing the rise of China.

If things continue going as they are, China will win. The Yuan will be the world's reserve currency. And the United States will go bankrupt. Our only option is to crush China before it gets too strong.

The problem with America is that it has zero unity. America is not a nation. It is several nations. All of which are competing with each other, and who largely dislike each other. We are together here for only one reason, money.

With that said, Mexico would love to take back the southwest, and they're already halfway there. If Mexico was powerful enough, they would. In fact, Mexico is the only true danger to the United States, because only through Mexico could militants, organizations, saboteurs, financing, drugs, etc, succeed in destabilizing the United States. Which is why China is funneling massive amounts of fentanyl and other drugs through Mexico into the United States. It is basically the Opium Wars in reverse.

I'm not so sure.

China is and will continue to be a regional/continental powerhouse, especially if they ally up with the Russians (and perhaps the Iranians) -- they'll control all of Asia, which leads us back to a Bi-Polar world, a new Cold War stalemate situation. East vs. West. Joe Biden was so dumb that he literally handed the Russians to the laps of the Chinese. If the Russians and Chinese form an unbreakable/tight military alliance, China now has nukes deployed on Europe's doorstep.

There was a time when the Russians were leaning towards Europe, there was an opportunity to reel in Putin, but all of that was destroyed by Hillary/Obama/Biden -- the largest geopolitical blunder of the century perhaps.

However, if the demographic bomb continues to ravage both east and west, we'll see other parts of the world take a larger share of the overall picture -- taking us to a multi-polar world.

It would be "every country for themselves". Eventually someone may rise to the top but it would take decades.
