I wonder if Graham understands that sending the US military into Mexico will put as at war with cartels, not the Mexican army? I have doubts that our current "woke" military will emerge victoriously in a war against a bunch of well funded, ruthless combatants who don't give a rat's butt about diversity, inclusion, equity, or wokeness. In fact, they will rightfully view all of the above as weaknesses.

Like the "terrorists" in the ME...they don't operate under the rules of war.
They are not a country's military.
Why is everyone on this thread going on about border security and drug trafficking? In this case, four young Americans went to Mexico for plastic surgery and ended up getting kidnapped. How would a Wall or tougher border security have changed that? How would stopping the flow of drugs to the US have any effect?
And BTW, we've tried the "War on Drugs" approach since the days of Nixon, and it doesn't work. It just makes criminals richer.
We should have invaded an annexed that country 60 years ago back when their population was a quarter of what it is now. We be much better off strategically if we controled everything down to the Panama canal. Much much smaller border to defend.
Imagine back when we were first founding this country and spreading West if we wouldn't have stopped but would have kept going south further and further that would have been so fascinating to see how history would have played out.
However our country is on the decline and that is a fact so the point is becoming moot.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Monday said he was prepared to introduce legislation to “set the stage” for U.S. military force in Mexico, saying it was time to “get tough” on the neighboring country after four Americans were kidnapped by armed men this week.
How about just putting the military on our own soil at the border?
Trump used economic non-violent means of pressure.
Graham, being part of those who profit from an aggressive defense, uses military pressure.
From the article...
Graham added he would “introduce legislation to make certain Mexican drug cartels foreign terrorist organizations under U.S. law and set the stage to use military force if necessary.”
“I would tell the Mexican government if you don’t clean up your act, we’re going to clean it up for you,” the senator said.
Why aren't they considered terrorists already? 4 people are kidnapped and that changes everything??
No - we don't need to be cleaning up messes from other countries.
This. DEFENDING our borders, as oposed to invading someone else's.
Let me guess.... You're against this, protecting America and American citizens....
But you're all for sending billions in cash and weapons to Ukraine?
So you want a war with Mexico?
