we are all being compelled to look the other way so much we got a crick in our neck.
whistleblowers are highly suseptible to retaliation even in retirement. the more protection the better.
you have no idea how out of sync our current government and private practices are with where we were 40 years ago. scary. the older you get and the nearer to retirement and hopefully the smarter-- you begin to realize the magnitude of the corruption and falsehood. it was a lot easier when you are young and stupid.
as in 6th sense "i talk to dead people" its "i talk to liars".

Teddie's statement blew by the wayside once 9/11 happened....god forbid people should have a voice, right?
Because the Constitution is a living, breathing document
That rhetoric is exactly the kind of nonsense that totalitarian evangalists use to convince the people that it's ok to shred the Constitution a little bit every once in a while.
The pharmaceutical industry wouldn’t want anyone working there that knew of problems to step forward and report it, they’d allow a few more deaths before the product is taken off the market.
The tobacco companies continued for decades to promote their products as non harmful in an effort to continue their sales. Then one of their own research doctors stepped forward and provided the information that blew the led off. The CEOs continued to lie before Congress when testifying about their products.
The Enron, Tyco, Global Crossing and others would have been able to continue doing business if a whistle blower could have come forward sooner to correct the internal problems of the upper levels of management in these corporations. Things would have been turned around from within ~ knowing that maybe one of the many had ethic morals and convictions of what is right and wrong.
My guess is that too many people just find it easier to look the other way, ignore it and maybe it will go away types of attitudes.
Look at what types of crime in our corporations and government continues because one person fails to come forward. It’s crime and corruption from the top down and people don’t care enough to even think about stopping it. Maybe because they don’t have any protection? Seems if my memory is correct this administration pushed through legislation to prevent whistle blowers from coming forward. No protection. Nice.
Perhaps the government should advertise on TV daily about the whistle blower clause that entitles the whistle blower to millions of dollars if they report illegal business practices... perhaps then all those infomercials will go out of business...

Who cares if they get millions for telling the truth? I'd rather see that person get reimbursed for stepping forward & bravely exposing the lies that our government has bombarded us w/daily & stupidly, people believe it. Give the money to the people who deserve it, not the blatant liars.
But everyone's moral compass is different... so who determines what is right when opinions on it differ?
