The single important aspect of a presidential candidate for you?

Will they be telling the truth when they swear to protect and uphold the US Constitution. Biden sure as hell lied, so did Obama, twice.

I'll agree here. I want someone who is willing to stand up to his own party when it comes to a matter of bad policy, no matter how many on his team back it. Same goes for being willing to compromise and - SHOCK- share credit for some good government initiative. Unfortunately in our tribal political society, those people would just be seen as flakes or soft.

I would also love for a POTUS candidate to come out and be honest about what the role is. Don't campaign as if you're running for king and making promises that one man can't handle. I also seem to never hear any campaign talk about how POTUS will handle the executive branch, which is actually in his control.

And you've left out another important trait -- INTEGRITY.

But to most party hacks -- Democratic or Republican -- that probably just means a politician who, once (s)he's bought, stays bought.

Biden is making 'Dubya' look like Albert Einstein! LOL

Remember when the left would make fun of George W Bush's speech patterns? Now they're silent on Joe's cognitive abilities to read a teleprompter, or inability to take questions from reporters.

I voted "something not listed above".

At this point, and I've said it several times on CD, I want a bomb thrower.

If the media doesn't like you, your fellow politicians abhor you, you're my huckleberry.

I think basing my vote on one personality trait seems to be silly.

Being the President of the USA is a hefty position which requires a complex strategy. Picking one thing is oversimplifying for sure.

And I should clarify -- it is a complex equation of personality, policy, historic information that indicates their ability to do what they say.

Character as they are the most prominent representative of the country. A president can't set policy themselves. But they sure can act like a buffoon when meeting with other world leaders.

IMO, anybody who votes because of a single issue, should NOT vote!
