This is pretty much what happened to former North Carolina senator and 2004 dem VP candidate John Edwards.
Edwards was indicted on a number of counts for using campaign funds to hush up his mistress Rielle Hunter. He was tried and had his day in court. He was found not guilty on the 1st count and the jury hung on the other counts so he went free.

Why, in this matter which is old published history, do the left continue to just make stuff up? Is that really how the left processes information?
Trump was losing ground to DeSantis and there was a good chance Trump would have lost in the primaries, of course no one knows for sure on that.
But the Dems gave him a huge boost here. And Trump is very good at spinning the news cycle into his favor. This will go down as the biggest political blunder in American politics. And probably the spot that will mark where the America beings to crumble and cease to exist at some point in the future.
actually in the last month, Trump doubled his lead over desantis. If there is ANY truth to the claims, then trump now leads by 60 points and since yesterday his campaign has been taking in a mil per minute. He will have over a billion dollars (half of what hillary spent to lose...twice) by memorial day.
You got evidence somebody committed a crime, call the DA. That’s how these things happen.
I remember when that happened to Jussie Smolett, then the DA got a phone call and he got a free pass until public outcry forced a do over.
Then they investigated the DA, but *shocker* nothing happened.

Where do you think Trump learned his "I can get away with anything" attitude? Well, he was right until he became an R- figure. This investigation gets squashed, just like Cuomos and others if he's Trump -D.
I can't help getting the feeling that this is all to get us ready for having a sitting US President being charged with treason and being led out of The Oval Office in handcuffs.
Come on. You have EVERY ex POTUS, MAYBE excluding Jimmy Carter, who should be cooling their heels in federal prison. On death row, I might add. Duhbya Bush.... 911. Then there's Biden and the vaxx death count not to mention the stolen election and his selling out to Red China.
This just seems ridiculous and staged and Trump seems to be just going along with it smiling like the cat that ate the canary.
We just got done having this entire conversation around unequal enforcement and prosecution in 2020-2022. Have we all forgotten BLM so soon?
So if an officer only pulls over the black speeders or jaywalkers, then tosses their car\person for drugs and anything else it's just tough luck for them because they shouldn't have been speeding\jaywalking?
Nobody that knows anything at all about how NY operates, for one second would think that if this were Trump 2012 he wouldn't have one of his buddies or political people he's donated to call the DA and encourage them to use discretion is BSing us.
Cuomo got discretion, Jesse Jackson got discretion (for pretty much the exact same thing as Trump) we have a host of unprosecuted Epstein islanders....this is my point.
None of that makes Donald Trump innocent or is justification for not holding him accountable for any laws he may have broken. This is my point.
Leave it to NY to verify and display to the world that it’s true. America has been transformed and third-world tactics are now enforced. Political choice is no longer tolerated. Wrong think will be punished. The judicial system is contaminated. Conservatives are being attacked by government, its institutions and media.
The left believes this is “winning.”
