What is allegedly bad about lowering the repayments to Medicare Advantage by 1.X%, exactly?
Doctors will start dropping MA patients. Nothing new under the sun as they already do that with medicare patients.

Over 1%? Unlikely.

Time will tell, however.

People on these programs already have a difficult time finding doctors that accept them.
This will only make it worse.

No. Medicare Advantage plans replace Medicare. Medicare Supplements are what you're thinking of. Two very different things.

So when the left makes cuts it's ok because it's "only 1%" ???
Biden himself actually wanted a bigger cut.

There have been several people who have demonstrated to you that you are misinformed about what is going on here.

So let's explain it again. Medicare Advantage is private insurance taking your Medicare dollars and managing them. The government likes it because the insurance company handles your care. The government saves on administrative costs because all they have to do is shell out the money.

However, the insurance companies need to make money off of what is shelled out. They hook you in by giving you lousy dental and vision plans and absorbing all the nickel and dime up front costs of regular Medicare making it a better deal on the front end. But if you dare get really sick or hurt they deny, deny, deny...just like they do with their regular insurance plans. They do this so they don't lose money.

You are much better off with Medicare and a supplement and buying your own dental and vision if you are going to have serious issues as an elderly person.

If you are going to be relatively healthy and plan on just keeling over some day...Medicare Advantage is probably just fine.

When you are 23 or 24 you don't really appreciate stuff like this.

Buying a medigap supplemental insurance plan does NOT impact the care. It simply covers some or all of the 20% of costs which traditional medicare doesn't pay for. Traditional Medicare pays 80% costs and people that choose to get a supplemental medigap plan do so to get the other 20% paid for.

A Medicare Advantage plan is all-in-one and is private insurance and isn't considered "supplemental" but it doesnt have the 80%/20% split. It can be harder to get pre-approvals for some services when on a Medicare Advantage plan vs traditional Medicare . Medicare Advantage plans also have a higher rate of denying claims that should be paid whereas traditional medicare (with or without supplemental) doesnt have such denial or pre-approval issues.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/28/h...ns-report.html
Medicare Advantage Plans Often Deny Needed Care

Advantage plans also refused to pay legitimate claims, according to the report. About 18 percent of payments were denied despite meeting Medicare coverage rules, an estimated 1.5 million payments for all of 2019. In some cases, plans ignored prior authorizations or other documentation necessary to support the payment.
These denials may delay or even prevent a Medicare Advantage beneficiary from getting needed care

My parents have Medicare and Medicare Advantage. They have no problems finding healthcare providers, and we're in a very small market.

It's all location based. Go to a big retirement type city and you get a vastly different story from people.
