Remember, the public is ultimately on the hook for all federal, state, and local debt.

$35.3T of public debt in the US, or about $106,000 for every man, woman, and child.

Do you have your share? LOL.

On the hook? Try collecting. Most of that debt is foreign owned, they're not going anywhere near your house

The people with actual skills and assets will be okay. it's the dependent welfare class that are suddenly going to have to fend for themselves

Foreigners own about $7.3T of the national debt. That is not even a quarter of the debt. Certainly nowhere near "most." And I hate to break it to you, but we are all a dependent welfare class. We are all dependent on government spending in some way.

Yes. That is because Trump was/is a raging liberal, just somewhat less so than the current fool in office.

House Democrats reveal secret plan to force vote on debt limit hike

House Democrats on Tuesday announced a secret plan to break through the partisan logjam that’s dogging talks over the debt ceiling and threatening a government default.

The strategy, hatched in January and kept under wraps since then, is designed to force a vote on a debt limit hike even over the objections of Republican leaders, who both control the floor and are demanding trillions of dollars in spending cuts as a condition of preventing a default — cuts President Biden has refused to consider.

On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the Treasury Department warned that such a lapse could occur as soon as June 1, Democratic leaders unveiled their stealthy plan — a long-shot gambit, known as a discharge petition, that forces floor action on legislation that’s backed by a majority of House lawmakers.

Trump was a Democrat until he ran for president the last couple of times.

Kevin McCarthy's main objective is to pacify Donald Trump; McCarthy cares nothing about the debt limit and putting the country first.

What you don't understand yet is that the average person is about to get wiped out regardless of federal debt default
How is the average person going to be wiped out? Why do you want everyone begging on the street?

I don't think you understand just how ridiculous this fight over the debt limit is. And how stupid it is.
