So, we're supposed to be surprised that a political campaign tried to downplay a story they thought would hurt their campaign? Was something illegal done? Was anyone forced to sign the letter?
I wonder if there is a tipping point and what may happen when and if reached. The level of exposed corruption in our electoral process is order of magnitude greater than at any time my life. I don't believe this will be fixed at the ballot box.
Our current Secretary of State got 51 former Intelligence Leaders including Secretaries of Defence, Former heads of the CIA & FBI to rescue the Biden Campaign over this Laptop that documented Biden INC. Corruption.

What don't you understand about the word "retired"? The state department is not involved, this was the action of private citizens. Why would they be answering questions. Morell was quite clear in his statement, is there a question why he took this action?

So what?
If their word was good while still active in their posts then their word should be good enough after they left service. Well, unless they were tricked into signing. Then we should discount everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) they ever said while employed by the government. IF they were tricked about something as simple as this to prove I hope they are never again in a position of authority in the US government again.
Intelligence officers weren't too intelligent on this matter. What else did they muck up?
