Based on the timestamps of both of their receipts (source: Twitter) she looks to have rented it on her phone and hopped on it, which led to what was seen in the video.

Assuming that's the case, both of these folks are acting pretty dumb. They both wanted the same bike and the kid likely tried to "hold" it, despite not actually having it rented at that time. The lady wanted the upgraded bike so badly she was willing to make a big scene over it despite the fact there were plenty of other bikes there. Both look really petty here.

And of course the media makes it a racial thing, because media is gonna media. It's a garden variety dispute the likes of which happen all the time. Of course with the media you get people predictably choosing sides, as intended.
Then why was she trying to re dock it so she could just get another bike. Seems like she was willing to give it up, she just didnt want it charged to her account. Someone upthread said people will steal the bikes and whoever rented it owes the company like 1200$ for the bike.

There was a recent video by the supposed sister of the young man who tussled with Sarah, making the case that Sarah was in the wrong.

In actuality, her video seems to unintentionally prove that the young man forced the bike away from Sarah because he felt entitled to 'reserve' it while it was idling.

A lot of people who were adamantly defending Sarah at first, are now starting to backtrack thinking "hey, maybe Sarah was in the wrong..."

Well, they are fools, because the young man felt entitled to keep a bike that was docked for his own personal use (that's not how Citibike works). When he saw Sarah getting that particular bike, he simply decided he had to have that bike and that's why he pushed the bike back into the docking station (after Sarah paid for it).

This sister is such an idiot, claiming Sarah somehow lept onto the bike handlebars to prevent the guy from taking 'his' bike from the docking station. And, of course, the race card. The young man actually has his own GoFundMe account which is to the tune of over $60K as of this writing. Shameless.

The bottom line is that it's just a squabble over a bike....but then Ben Crump and parts of the media (despite claims here that the media doesn't do things like that) tried to make it racial without getting facts.
