The world is now entering into a permanent, irreversible, and horrific economic contraction due to peak oil production and energy/resource depletion.
meanwhile in the real world.....
Porsche is making gasoline out of air and water
The most interesting part is that Porsche’s synthetic blend features the same molecular structure as conventional gasoline and yet, it doesn’t pollute.

Yeah... you can modify a diesel engine and have it run on used French fried potato oil... does not mean that suck a thing is practical to do on a large scale.

I believe that this contraction will begin in ernest circa 2025 (give or take a year) and will end in the total collapse of the global techno-industrial order sometime around 2050. Yes, I am fun at parties...........
I think you are partially right.
But you have the date wrong. Probably.
The world will enter into a permanent state of economic contraction, but has not yet. It won't happen for some years yet, and its cause will be loss of workers due to population decline.
Loss of workers, lower demand, and fewer countries able to build all the "stuff" we take for granted now, all because of population decline, but God only knows who the media and the public will blame it on.
And yes, it looks to me like the world will de-industrialize at some point as globalization falls apart. But I don't know when.

I do not know where you are getting this idea that there is a "population decline"- the global population is the highest it has ever been.

Did you actually read what I said?..... Because that is pretty much what I said.
Anyway...
What you say is true, today. Probably.
But decline is now inevitable - can't be stopped. There will come a day when you will look back and say that was the highest population ever WAS. Because once population decline sets in it will never stop. Not ever.
It will be worse in China, Russia, and some others, but eventually population decline will affect everything.
