I love Greenville but hate they gave in. That's so disappointing.
This is actually one of the things that caught my eye about this case. I'll be retiring pretty soon and I'm looking to move somewhere that doesn't pander to the liberal racist fringe. Greenville is one of the places that I'm considering, but this incident gives me pause. Not because of some racist loud-mouthed activist -- such creatures could exist anywhere, unfortunately -- but because of how the city leaders responded.
White slave owners are the reason there was a need for Juneteenth.
The banner is tone deaf. It would be like Nazis celebrating the end of the Holocaust. This is just embarrassing for whoever decided to create that banner.

Juneteenth is a Texas things, so other places picking up on it and celebrating it aren’t used to it and apparently haven’t worked out the kinks, I guess *shrug*
So I guess it shouldn't be considered a "national" holiday, but more an ethnic holiday according to these activists?
