I don't know why I clicked on this thread. I don't have children and I don't usually participate in the madness that is the Politics and Other Controversies forum; however, it seems to me that there is a big difference between signing a permission slip for PG movies in general, or a specific PG movie with which a parent might object.
Could you clear this up for me? Did parents sign on for this specific movie or just PG movies in general?

100%. There is no reason for this to have become such a polarizing issue as it has. There was nothing wrong with what we were doing before where gays and trans could just live their lives normally without disturbing people. Now if you don’t go out of your way to be an “active ally” and show you are on the “right” side of it, you will be canceled or maybe worse. This issue does not affect the vast majority of people yet we are all expected to advocate for gays, etc.
Because they are “allies” and have to virtue signal constantly to show they are worthy of approval by the LGBT community.

People could be reacting to several tik toks videos of lgbtq+ teachers or allies, bragging about their young kids in their class and how they do LGBTQ friendly stuff in it.
Not saying this is the case here. Just saying these teachers exist. And why the 'motivation' is in question.
Ignore Ben Shaprio in the vid,..I can't find the original. I have seen 'worse' ones,.but searching is tough.
If I'm not mistaken, what the school is doing is against the law, period. Unless full disclosure, most movies are banned from public schools because of the copyright laws. Home videos are meant to be sold for one household use, not an entire school.
Any teacher or lgbtqabc123 member that attempts to teach a child this bs should be sent to prison. 10 year minimum imo. There is no legitimate reason or excuse for teaching a child any of it.
It's not just teachers or the members at fault either. It's parents allowing their children to have a smart phone at age 10 without any kind of parental controls so they are practically being raised by tik tok and other bs social media.

They had signed a slip indicating PG movies could be used in class, she still needed approval from the administration. The one school board member whose child reported viewing the movie objected, she was supported by Moms for Liberty and is now being asked to step down. She has argued in the past that there is smut and porn in schools and it needs to be removed.
The school board closed the investigation but the State Dept of Education is still open.
Three Florida legislators have become involved asking the superintendent to resign indicating they can no longer allow this district to make national news because of poor decisions. Oh the irony.
Either way it's absurd that she reported this to the Florida Dept of Education when she is a board member, this should have been resolved within the district.
There are 50 teachers leaving the district after the year, that is the problem that needs to be addressed.

I put this right up there with the fourth grade teacher in Texas that took her class on a "pride walk" and then declared that 20 out of her 32 students "came out".
