If the government confiscated every penny that Americans made this year, it still would not be enough to pay off the national debt.

If the government confiscated every penny that Americans made this year, the federal budget would cease to exist because all economic activity would cease. 100% of 0 is still 0.

Biden is more than welcome to raise revenue....out of his own personal pocket.

Of course, the Repubs brought this on themselves, with all their tax cuts for people who don't need them, slashing the budgets of federal agencies in some cases to the point of their inability to function and provide for public safety (CDC, Forest Service and National Park Service, and many more). So naturally a solid tax base needs to be restored.

But oh, sure, go blame the Dems for their opposition undermining the federal budget, one Repub administration after another!

This is so true. Keep starving the beast and then say there isn't enough money to pay for anything. The UNNECESSARY tax cuts were outright theft from the US Treasury because the money to keep the govt functioning then had to be BORROWED causing an increase in the national debt to cover the loss of revenue. Tantamount to stealing. Never should have happened. Ironically, tax cuts for the lower income went away, but those for the superrich remain. Some things never change. And, yet, people keep voting for those who promote this insanity designed to undermine the proper functioning of government.

We can start with him (King F'n Biden) and all his government royalty. Take the huge bank accounts, take the 10,000 sq ft homes, beach houses, summer homes, investment properties, take the luxury autos, take the private jets, take the cushy pensions, take the opulent lifestyles, take the domestic servants, take the worldwide free vacations, etc, etc, etc.

Then build 500 sf row houses in pocket neighborhoods with walking paths to the capitol buildings for each government SERVANT (yes, that's what the vermin are, they are OUR servants), all surrounding a small central park for weekend rest periods. Provide each family with a small golf cart sized auto to be used on the rare occasion they need to leave the pocket neighborhood or capitol building. Also, because we the people are so benevolent, provide a small eatery and pub within the government pocket neighborhood. Maybe a miniature golf course or dog park.

Whenever the average citizen is paying any more than 0.25% of his or her personal earnings to the federal government, that is a sign the federal government needs to be CUT way back. It has been too large for at least the last 150 years. The feds should be nearly non-existent and non-detectable in the typical person's daily life.

Neither Putin nor Trump have any power over us.

It's just supremely hypocritical that a rich old would-be king ******* with dementia sits on his can in his palace and has the balls to tell us that we need to cough up more money to him. Let him cough it up. He has it to cough up, we don't. Friggin' Marie Antoinette reincarnation sitting there in the capitol.

Neither Putin nor Trump are proposing to require we pay more money to them, now are they?

What I don't understand is the police haven't figured out tickets are revenue. Portland hired all those Rodney King cops after they got fired from LAX and then everyone started getting pulled over.

The issue is that taxes in the long run will stifle the economy, entrepreneurship, and inventions in the economy. You will see lots of $ move offshore for investment to other more attractive markets. Our economy is already circling the drain and innovation has stalled out here in the US.
