Actually that would hurt this country more than any of the oil comapnies and OPEC. OPEC may decide to cut production saying oil is too plentiful. The biggest profit margin this years so far is Petrobas in Brizil whey made over a 35% gain. Exxon was actually under 7%.Face it;we are not in the oil producers list of top countries any more. We don't control the market at all.So do wahtyou want on the 13th and the 20th if you can get by with it;nothing will change. But you will get it out of your blood anyway.

Some people are saying if I were in charge I would do this or do that to stop the raising Gas prices. Just one person complaining won't work.
Apparently we can't seem to car pool as much as we should BUT if EVERYBODY would POOL together On June 13th and June 20th and stay home, maybe the Oil Company's will stop the every day raising prices.
Remember - Tell Everybody You Know to stay at home June 13th and
June 20th as it should lower the gas prices or at least keep them from going up any higher.
We need to try something and this is one way that Everbody in the United States can speak up. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !

Stay at home on June 13th and June 20th.
No Driving and no Flying Just Stay Home and Just Maybe the Big Oil Company's will stop raising the Gas Prices on a daily basis.
Tell Everybody you know to Stay Home on June 13th and June 20th.
This is one way Everybody Can speak up saying Enough is Enough!
Rather then Everybody complaining about the prices and not doing anything about it, lets all Pool together and Stay Home June 13th and June 20th.
REMEMBER tell Everybody you know to Stay Home on June 13th and June 20th
Also tell Everybody you know to tell Everybody they konw to take the 2 days off (June 13th and June 20th ) an just Stay At Home.
RIGHT ON!! That will show those big oil companies! two days with a few ignorant people not buying gas, yep I bet it will really send them a message, until the next day, when they sell twice as much! please grow up! If this would actually have any effect , it would be on the station owners, if that!

Well with this proposal you stay home, thereby not using fuel. In theory it would work if done in masses, but Americans (nor anyone else) can just "stay at home" on any given day. I'd be mowing my grass, watching tv, repairing something, all consuming some type of energy or another.

Not one USA oil company even makes the top 10 list for largest oil companies in the world. Exxon, despite its size is a peanut compared to the elephant oil companies in this world.

Mexico has cheaper fuel because they implement cost control, subsidized by taxpayers which in turn, because of government interference on all levels of the economy, keeps the country forever poor, hence why so many flock up here for work.

Mexico has created a very stark rich/poor divide which is the same result with all socialist economies.

Why is it people still to this day think the governemnt is the answer to everything?

If you don't like the oil companies and the product they deliver, then don't buy from them then.

By the way, mexico supplies us oil at guess what price? The world market price.

Pemex is so screwed up from years of mismanagment it will take millions to even get them up to the standard of the private oil companies in terms of efficency.

Exxon is one of the world's smallest oil companies, they provide 3% of the world's oil supply, hardly a factor in the world oil market. Considering they are making a 7% profit margin, I would hardly call that a huge margin.
correct on most things, but I think when it comes to 'if you don't like oil, don't buy it' is pretty ridiculous considering the fact our infrastructure as a nation is built around that as energy policy. Everyone of us (industry and citizens and govt) is literally being held over a barrel. Tell me what commercially available alternatives are there for america?
I think it would be useful for americans to participate in this experiment, if nothing else to get them to realize their own excessive reliance. I think it's useful to realize that people have little choices as to how they can get to work, or how those life saving medical deliveries get delivered without using oil.
We need to get off oil. We need to, as a nation and individuals, have control of our own energy. We need to be more self reliant. How can we achieve this?

The issue isnt that we need to get off of oil, its that we need a solution to obtaining oil until a viable alternative is reasonable. One day hydrogen will be a solution (about 5 years) and beyond that solar, but the only way to solve our problems until such time is to drill for more oil here in the states. Drill so much oil that we have buckets and buckets of it. Once the alternatives come along, what will we do with the infrastructure and massive oil reserves that we have here?

Nah... we need to suck it up faster and increase supply, its only purpose is to serve mankind, why the heck should I just let it sit under my feet? We just need to get all of our ducks in a row with alternative energy before we run out... which none of us will ever come remotely close to seeing, running out that is.

We shouldn't attack the oil companies... we need to attack the environmentalists that have, SELFISHLY, hindered the progress of the majority of their fellow human beings... And for what? To worship this massive ball of electrons, protons and neutrons???? Give me a break... but give me the oil first!

I don't see how saying home 2 days out of 365 days in a year will make anyone notice... especially since they make HUGE profits and stand to lose nothing, especially since there is more consumption than supply... it all get consumed, its just of matter of when...

I think someone raising the price of gas to $15 a gallon might change your mind about a few things.

LOL that is too funny. It's too bad that 90% of the US doesn't understand that. Surely we all know it is George Bush's fault gas is so high (which it isn't, really).
