Is the guy in the black hoodie dropping a deuce while his buddies watch?
When you move up down street and when right next to him it looks like he’s about to. People don’t hold their pants like that without putting on or off. The people on otherside are looking there too.
Employees at San Francisco’s federal building, which is located at an intersection notorious for open-air drug transactions, were instructed to work from home amid rampant crime in the city.
In early August, the Department of Health and Human Services advised hundreds of workers in San Francisco to work remotely until further notice due to crime concerns, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
“In light of the conditions at the (Federal Building) we recommend employees … maximize the use of telework for the foreseeable future,” HHS Assistant Secretary for Administration Cheryl R. Campbell said in a memo to regional leaders.
This quote from the head of HHS makes me believe the whole RTO push is just a movement to prop up otherwise failing cities which WFH render as obsolete.
WOW! NPR reported that San Fran mayor wants to change San Fran into some kind of AI smart city to implement changes and control resources like food etc in a partnership with the World Economic Forum!
Is this destroy a city and then Build Back Better? Seems to be.
I just heard this report this morning. Will look for more info.
A little inside scoop I got from an acquaintance who works in the federal bldg. in question.
A woman who works for the FBI at the federal building in the Tenderloin (Phillip Burton Federal Building on Golden Gate & Larkin) was attacked in June and apparently the feds were not happy with the cooperation they received from the mayor of SF and SFPD. This lack of cooperation resulted in the decision to switch to work-from-home at the federal bldg. on Mission and 7th on Aug. 4. The Phillip Burton Federal Building (Tenderloin) is also a courthouse and those employees need to come to work. Not so at the bldg. on Mission & 7th.
This story may be BS, but govt. employees love to sue their employers, so maybe the feds are being over cautious.

She actually believes all those tech workers that left can be replaced by AI tech workers that need to be in their offices in SF for some reason.

Yes, conditions can and do get worse, and that's what's occurred. It's not a big surprise in general or specifically for an area that's been sketch for a long time, even before the latest downturn. Does the OP live there? Work there? Travel there? Is he anywhere near that city? If no, why fixate on something that doesn't affect him?
I believe the OP is an American. Should an American not be concerned about what is happening in his country? Even non Americans are watching what is happening in the US. Some are pleased to see the decay, some are concerned. But is would seem to me to be in order for a US citizen to be interested or concerned. Others may disagree of course.
