If the bold is true, why aren't more veteran organizations getting involved?!
Please don't misunderstand the above question. I am 100% in favor of treating veterans better than people who are here illegally -- actually, I am in favor of treating them at least as well, if not better, than almost ANY other group -- but it seems to me that this situation, if it is true, deserves a lot more attention and outrage than it has been receiving.
Imo, the priority for providing housing (or at least decent shelter) should be:
1. Homeless families headed by U.S. citizens with young children
2. Homeless veterans
3. Other homeless single U.S. citizens without young children
4. Immigrants (not U.S. citizens) with young children.
5. Immigrants (not U.S. citizens) without young children.
In short, I think that only after all the citizens are taken care of, should we be more generous to people here illegally from other countries.
Your last statement must be a joke! God help you if it isn't.
I don't think children should suffer for the mistakes of their parents. I think Jesus would agree, but maybe "God" wouldn't.
I don't think Americans and their children should have to suffer for the sins of illegal foreigners. Even the children of Americans suffer because of the crimes that their parents commit. It's unavoidable.
