Just out of curiosity... Was this the construction site where some homeless person stole a forklift and drove it into another building???
Someone stole a forklift from a construction site in Brentwood (40 miles east of SF) to use to steal an ATM last year. They tried that in Sacramento too. Don't know about SF.
I PREFER THE REPUBLICAN FORM
I prefer the republican form of government, where all men are created equal (before the law - none higher) with Creator endowed rights that governments were instituted to secure - not tax, regulate nor trespass. And absent consent of the governed, governments are limited to adjudicating disputes, prosecuting criminals, and defending against all enemies, foreign or domestic.
Of course, if you prefer to consent to the socialist democracy, shut up, sit down, pay and obey... get "your number" and accept your mandatory civic duties to defend the government and pay your "fair share" of the cost.
You can be assured that those who are elected, will pander to the lowest common denominator - the "Takers" who will gleefully burden the "Taken" (donors) with the bill, while castigating them for their enterprise.
There is one simple remedy that would rapidly correct things - bar recipients of public funds from voting. . . It's a conflict of interest. To be eligible to vote, one would have not received ANY public funds, benefits, entitlements, etc, for 2 years prior to the election.
I am not saying to abolish socialist entitlements / public charity - merely take away any political benefit for pandering to the recipients. Only the tax payers can vote and thus decide (indirectly) how the public funds should be spent.
Sad to see Democrats destroying city after city. I guess the good thing is that when WWIII starts, these cities will all be leveled like Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Then Republicans can come in and fix them up. 50 years from now, they will be nice cities again.
So depressing to see this once-great city collapse
It's going the way of Portland & Seattle. All in the name of leftist ideology before common sense.
Indeed it is. But bad as it is today, IMHO it hasn't been a great city since the 50s. I came out here from upstate NY in '73 and its great days were already behind it.
