We watch TV as a family before they go to bed so again, this is not an issue at my home.

It’s the principle of the thing for me.
This.

We are very different people but somehow we both figured out that it’s a good idea to be aware of what content your kids are consuming, and that the only one who can instil your values, and talk to your kids about what’s important, is you.

The outside world is full of things that for various (and likely vastly different) reasons we want to shield them from.

It’s some things for you, it’s other things for me.

Parents have tried and failed for generations to control what other people do and say within earshot of kids. It doesn’t work. I guess it makes people feel like they’re “doing something”. You can only do your part as a parent. That’s it.

It’ll be one controversial issue today, another one tomorrow.

That’s the perils of a free society. I don’t want to live in a country where everything is censored and people can’t express themselves, even if I don’t care for their message.

Mind your own kids’ childhood.

I have a ton of respect for andrea. I don’t have to agree with her all the time for that to be the case.

Corporations are not people. We’re not trying to control what other PEOPLE do when we expect certain standards of decency involving corporations marketing content directly to kids.

The idea that not wanting sexual content on a Kids channel is censorship’s is ridiculous. It was available on many other channels and no one here argued that it should not be shown on any of them beside Nickelodeon.

Sorry. But Republicans pushed the law. Corporations are people. Reap what they have sowed. They have every legal right and that’s that.

When you keep repeating things that are not true, it doesn’t make them true.
Their “naked butt cheeks” were not on display.

They were wearing leotard type one pieces with a fringed skirt, just like a thousand other dance costumes or gymnastic costumes.

Their dancing was no more outrageous than a ballroom sequence.

Nickelodeon is not exclusively a kids’ channel.

No more explicit (and I would say less) than these, and plenty like them.

You do. My two nieces were in competition cheer -my two grands also - I’m not going to discredit these young ladies by posting any links or pictures - but if you search - you will find the makeup, many moves and uniforms at the high school level that are provocative enough that I think are over the top. You just need to get out more. Is on TV ? yes the competitions are, maybe not on kids channels. I don’t subscribe to them. The high kick is the boys favorite- I’m sure

Corporations are not people. But I suppose any opportunity to stick it to conservatives includes defending corporations from marketing sexual content to kids, I guess you gotta be loyal to your team.

Megan the tee Stallion’s naked butt cheeks were very much on display.

We have already established when Nickelodeon shows more adult themselves content so just stop it.

Did you even bother to read the lyrics to the song or watch the video?

Would you be proud of your granddaughter if she chose to perform the song Bongos and Copy the dance moves?

We didn’t do that. Your team did.

Citizens United is known for its support of conservatives in politics.

Do corporations have more rights than citizens?
As a result, corporations have the same rights as people to free speech, due process, equal protection—and more!

Terri there are more people that agree with you than not - just look here at reputation comments. Parents in all states are fed up with what's going on be they blue or red. And many of the illegals families coming in are very religious - they may accept the handouts from the Dems now but they put family first and I'm sure they know what's going on and don't approve.
