* In 2021, voters throughout New York considered a proposed amendment to the state constitution. It would remove the need for voters to state an acceptable designated excuse for an absentee ballot.
We endorsed this idea and encouraged voters to support it. As long as election officials can maintain a system that roots out any fraudulently cast ballots, we believed voters should have this option.
But Republicans argued against this measure, and they prevailed. Voters turned down the request to change the state constitution.
So lawmakers decided to ignore the voters and pursue their own objectives.
Leave it to the home of Tammany Hall, New York State, and its corrupt politicians, to tear up New York's Constitution, give the finger to New York's voters, and impose their will upon the people without the people's consent.
Tammany Hall's tyrants and vote fraud seem to be alive and well in New York State.

But let us also keep in mind how the elderly in nursing homes were exposed to covid, and over 13 thousand died unnecessarily under the corrupted and authoritarian Democrat Leadership's policies in New York. So, your point about using covid again is not farfetched!

The scary truth about allowing no-excuse mail-in voting in one state is, when acts of corruption infect an electoral process in one jurisdiction “they transcend mere local concern and extend a contaminating influence into the national domain.” Justice DOUGLAS in United States v. Classic (1941)”.

NY is notorious for sneaking in laws with no public input or awareness. You only find out on the news or something after the fact.
Typically tied to the budget bill. It's one side of the aisle basically holding the other at gunpoint. Doesn't matter who happens to be in the majority that year.

That is exactly what Governor Hochul's signing of the New York Early Mail Voter Act, is about. It is about creating a voting system ripe for fraud because it is impossible to verify if the one who filled out the ballot and mailed it in, is the actual person whose name appears on the ballot.

And in this case, the voters of NY overwhelmingly rejected a constitutional amendment allowing no-excuse mail-in voting ballots.
Seems that the rule of law is now totally ignored in NY, at least with respect to its voting process.
